Final Results of Britain´s Got Talent: Voting percentages

diversity-won-britains-got-talentWe all know that Diversity won Britain´s Got Talent, right?

Well, that´s nothing new, but, what´s new is this info about the voting percentages.

Surprisingly, Flawless came in eight with just 3.8 of the voting, way behind Diversity (Shouldn´t it have been closer? Wasn´t Flawless the ones who should´ve won?), with Stavros Flatley coming in fourth, when the phone lines to reach for their number were collapsed, but calling for Julian Smith was no problem…

Something happened there? Don´t read to much into it… but perhaps these results are as manipulated as American Idol fixed results

Here are the percentage breakdown figures for the public voting on last week’s shows…

You Tube Videos: Shaheen Jafargholi on Britain´s Got Talent Semifinal!

video-of-shaheen-jafargholi-on-britains-got-talentBritain´s Got Talent is a great show, where Paul Potts and George Sampson came out… and where Susan Boyle made a breaking performance for You Tube.

Britain’s Got Talent is a British television show on ITV and part of the Got Talent series. Presented by Ant & Dec, it is a search for Britain’s next best talent act featuring singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other talents of all ages. Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. The winner of both series received £100,000 and are given the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the Royal Family, including the Queen.

On the Third Semifinal, Shaheen Jafargholi proved he´s the best voice so far.

Who is Shaheen Jafargholi on Britain´s Got Talent?

Britain’s Got Talent contender Shaheen Jafargholi may have his sights set on global success – but the schoolboy is a homebody at heart.

He told us, “My granddad used to sing so I think I got most of my talent from him. I don’t have anyone famous in my family, but everyone is very supportive”.

Fresh from his successful audition, he was bursting to share his good news. “My family have been great and I can’t wait to go to school tomorrow, where everyone is really good friends. Hopefully everyone will be really happy when I tell them; they are all going to be bouncing”.

Shaheen, whose dad is from Iran and whose name means bird of prey in Persian, was brought up in Swansea by his now-single mum Karen.

And if he were to go further in the competition, he’s under no doubt that her wants to win it for Wales.

“I would love to be part of the history of good singers from Wales.”

The Cardiff auditions certainly provided some great talent and top-notch auditionees – but who knows who will make it all the way to the live show stage of Britain’s Got Talent?

Said Shaheen, “If I get through to the semi finals, who knows? I might be the only one from Wales. I would be very proud to show that Wales has got talent”.

“I would love to have everyone in Wales on my side and voting for me.”

Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. The winner of both series received £100,000 and are given the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the Royal Family, including the Queen.

On the Third Semifinal, Stavros Flatley proved likeability. How with a fun act you can make it to the finals.

Who are Stavros Flatley on Britain´s Got Talent?

When father and son act Stavros Flatley took to the stage at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, the Britain’s Got Talent audience were stunned and delighted by their unique and almost indescribable act.

But for restaurant go-ers in North London’s Winchmore Hill area, it may have jogged a few memories of something they’d seen a long time ago.

Dad Demetrious Demtriou used to run a popular Greek restaurant in the area. And after dinner was served, the entertainment began!

Says Demetri, “The whole idea behind the restaurant was that when you came in, or your friends brought you in for your birthday, it was to stitch you up”.

“We would have a whole hour of cabaret  – we would have Greek dancing, belly dancing, plate smashing… and then we would drag you up to do a Greek dance, or do karaoke dressed as Rod Stewart, or Michael Jackson, or Madonna”.

“It would go from being a restaurant for 100, 120 people, to being a disco, it would go mad. I’d lead everyone out into the street… and back in again”.

And along with Demetri’s brother’s highland dancing and the cabaret character Stavros Dinadoplis Dinadopilou, Stavros Flatly because an enduringly popular comedy character.

After eight years, the family gave up the restaurant in favour of the quiet life. “I couldn’t take it any more,” explains Demetri. “It was brilliant, but hard work. He (Lagi) was just a baby and I never saw him, we had no time”.

Nevertheless, watching his dad perform as Stavros Flatley certainly made an impression in the pre-school Lagi’s head, and it became one of his earliest memories. When an ad asking for applications to Britain’s Got Talent appeared on TV, it was the twelve-year-old who told Demetri to apply.

“He said I should do it and I said ‘No’. But then he said ‘Go on, I’ll do it with you’. We had a practice in our living room and he was brilliant. I thought, ‘OK, we’ll have a go’ – but I didn’t think the reaction would be that good. It was amazing.”

Both father and son loved the buzz of being on stage – and it could be that Lagi has caught the performing bug! Says Dad, “Honestly, honestly, honestly, we had a giggle. I didn’t realise how much of a giggle it would be”.

“When I had the restaurant, people used to come up to me and say, ‘Are you that guy with the restaurant? You stitched my friend up.’ You miss that. When you’ve got an electrical company nobody comes up to say, ‘Oh, by the way, you wired my house’, do they“?

Although planning a Greek-themed performance Prince Philip would love should they go farther in the competition, the pair are taking the opportunity to savour their success just now – no matter what comes next.

Says Demetri, “Someone might say, ‘Are you the guy that did Britain’s Got Talent ?’ That would be nice for me – and for him”.

You Tube Videos: Gareth Oliver on Britain´s Got Talent Semifinal!

video-of-gareth-oliver-on-britains-got-talentBritain´s Got Talent is a great show, where Paul Potts and George Sampson came out… and where Susan Boyle made a breaking performance for You Tube.

Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. On the Second Semifinal Gareth Oliver almost got it, after his ventriloquist show got a tons of votes from the audience.

Who is Gareth Oliver on Britain´s Got Talent?

Ventriloquist Gareth Oliver made quite an impression with on the judges on Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday night.

With his fresh comedy take and voice-throwing talents, his act was a million miles away from the standard ventriloquist get-up.

Gareth gambled by putting a new twist in his act – but the gamble paid off.

And although we didn’t see much of his routine, we saw him earn enough votes to see him though to the next round of the show.

28 year-old Gareth, who “is from Halifax originally, but moved down to Kent to make my fortune,” was delighted.

He told us, “I’ve done normal ventriloquism for a long time, and I’ve also done my badly dubbed act, and an echo”.

“People tend to be more freaked out and impressed by that stuff because it’s a little bit different”.

“Ventriloquists tend to get a bad name – 150 years old, wearing a suit handed down by their grandfather and saying, ‘Gottle of gear, gottle of gear’”.

“This type of act does get pigeon-holed sometimes. But I’m trying to break all the rules!”

Gareth knew he had only a few seconds in front of the judges to make his (badly-dubbed or otherwise) voice heard.

“I was too scared to even say what my act was when I went on stage. They were like, ‘What do you do?’ and I said ‘Something different!’”

“They said, “What’s that?’ and I said, ‘You’ll see!’”

“To be honest, I knew they hate putting ventriloquists through – so I was scared to say the word in case I couldn’t pronounce it under pressure. I was hyperventilating!”

He grinned, “This was a high risk routine – but luckily, it seems to have a high reward!”

You Tube Videos: Peter Coghlan on Britain´s Got Talent Semifinal!

video-of-peter-coghlan-on-britains-got-talentBritain´s Got Talent is a great show, where Paul Potts and George Sampson came out… and where Susan Boyle made a breaking performance for You Tube.

Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. On the Second Semifinal, Peter Coghlan came to shock us but only got a second class performance. At least I expected more.

Who is Peter Coghlan on Britain´s Got Talent?

Meet Peter Coghlan, or, as he likes to be called when he dons his orange wig, Mama Trish! For the last 26 years family man Peter has been working the pubs and clubs with his drag act, but has now decided it’s his time he shone in the Big Time.

“I feel I’ve done my apprenticeship now… and if I get there it will be a dream come true.”

After a laugh and a joke with the judges Peter’s audition begins in earnest. The fur coat falls to the ground, Holly Valance’s Kiss Kiss fills the theatre, and Mama Trish’s belly starts to wobble!

Half-sickened, half-enraptured, the audience wail their approval as Mama Trish shakes her belly up and down, and side-to-side. Then, as the crowd are reaching fever pitch, Mama sticks her finger into her belly-button and rolls it around before popping it straight into her mouth! YUK!!

The judges recoil in horror!

When the act is over it has evidently all been too much for Simon.

“That was the lowest form of entertainment I’ve ever seen!” he says before explaining he would never send an act like that before the Royal Family.

Amanda, however, was much more positive. “I would like to see some more of that! This show is all about embracing the eccentricity of this country, and you epitomise that!”

Piers also enjoyed the act. “Peter, we are looking for a big talent and they don’t come much bigger than you, quite frankly! I found you weirdly hypnotic!”

When the votes were cast it was two ‘yes’ votes to one ‘no’, and Peter was through to the next round!

You Tube Videos: Jamie Pugh on Britain´s Got Talent Semifinal!

video-of-jamie-pugh-on-britains-got-talentBritain´s Got Talent is a great show, where Paul Potts and George Sampson came out… and where Susan Boyle made a breaking performance for You Tube.

Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. The winner of both series received £100,000 and are given the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the Royal Family, including the Queen.

On the Second Semifinal, Jamie Pugh let the nerves get the best out of him.

Who is Jamie Pugh on Britain´s Got Talent?

By day 37 year-old Jamie Pugh is a warehouse worker, by night he delivers pizzas, but this existence is a far cry from the life he wishes he could live, one where is phenomenal talent is accepted and appreciated by other people.

“I’m just a simple bloke from the valleys,” said Jamie in the holding room before he went onstage: “All I want to do is sing.”

However excruciating stage fright had always prevented Jamie from fulfilling his dream, singing in public has always been a massive problem for him and he’d not slept for three nights leading up to his audition because of his nerves.

Physically shaking Jamie stood in front of the 3,000-strong audience and said:

“I’m going to sing Bring Him Home from Les Miserables… well I’m going to try.”

“Have you ever sung in front of an audience before?” Simon asked.

“No,” was Jamie’s simple reply.

He took a minute or so to compose himself before he gave the signal to the wings for the music to begin. What followed would have shocked those in the theatre and those at home in equal measures, because Jamie’s rendition of the West End classic was spellbinding.

Sung so beautifully and with such raw emotion, it was hard not to feel your eyes fill up with tears! A truly moving audition that had the crowd screaming and cheering their appreciation at its conclusion.

Jamie looked shocked, seemingly unable to comprehend the magnificent reception that came his way.

“It is a beautiful song,” Amanda told him: “That was amazing!”

“I’ve got to say Jamie,” Piers began: “I was not expecting that type of performance from you… I thought it was incredible!”

Simon stared at Jamie with a warm smile and said: “I think I know how important the last three minutes were to the rest of your life. People like you are why we come to Wales every year, because we like to find special, special talent.”

And with a trademark wink he continued: “I think we’ve found just one!”

He then urged Jamie to start believing in himself more, before adding:

“This could be a big moment in your life and I am really happy for you.”

Backstage with Ant and Dec, Jamie was stunned yet extremely happy.

“Just for this brief moment, I feel complete,” he said as a slow smile stretched his face.
