Eastwick got cancelled by ABC after only airing a handful of episodes.
Eastwick is an American television drama series created by Maggie Friedman. The series is a television adaptation of the John Updike novel, The Witches of Eastwick. The show currently airs on ABC and is currently being produced by Warner Bros. The show premiered on September 23, 2009 at 10:00PM Eastern/9:00PM Central. The show follows the lives of three strangers, Roxanne, Joanna and Kat, who meet at a wishing fountain and soon become friends. A mysterious man named Darryl Van Horne has moved to Eastwick and has plans for the women, and befriends them. Even more dangerous, he unleashes their supernatural powers, and their true potential. By igniting their hearts’ desires, he might just be opening Pandora’s box.
On November 9, 2009, ABC declined to order any additional episodes of Eastwick effectively cancelling the series. However, the remaining ordered episodes will still air in the series’ current timeslot. Lifetime have expressed an interest in picking up the show for a second season.
What is Eastwick About? – Plot
Season one began airing on September 23, 2009 and introduces three women – Roxanne Torcoletti, Joanna Frankel, and Kat Gardener. They hardly know each other, but meet at a wishing fountain and make three different wishes that interlink and bring trouble to the town of Eastwick. A man named Darryl Van Horne has moved into the town and has an unusual interest in the women and soon befriends them and teaches them about their magical abilities. During the season, we are introduced to Bun Waverly and Eleanor Rougemont, who seem to have a past with Darryl, and a mysterious third woman in the photo of them appeared missing. Eleanor also reveals that she was the one who killed Darryl, formerly known as Sebastian Hart, but with Darryl walking around alive, Joanna and Penny investigate the mystery.
What will happen to that ABC Slot?
For the time being, ABC has said the remaining episodes of Eastwick will be aired normally and the show will finish after the 13th episode.

Bull*&$t is what this is!! ABC is awesome at cancelling the really good shows like Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money and Life On Mars and keeping the crap shows like Cougar Town.
Without Grey’s Anatomy and DWTS they would be nowhere. I do like Flash Forward but it’s only a matter of time before that goes too.

It’s very upsetting that ABC had decided to cancel Eastwick. I for one think that they chose a wrong time slot for the show and that didn’t help at all with they’re decision.
I do hope hope that Lifetime does pick up the show, Would love to see the show continue for at least 2 to 3 more seasons

I just read the news … i cannot believe that Eastwick had been cancelled … I am extremely disgusted by that…..
O my god … This show was fabulous and they cancel it … I am so sick of all the other story lines on TV and we finally get something with substance and they cancel it go figure ..
Well hopefully one of the other networks will snap it up and show ABC what a big mistake they have made

Why would you cancel Eastwick without giving it a fair run…I love that show & also loved Lipstick Jungle & Dirty Sexy Money, but you seem to keep the crap on like Ulgy Betty & the Office???

I was very disappointed that Eastwick is one of the programs to be cancelled. I enjoyed the show very much, the storyline was different and the cast was great. I hope that it will be renewed.

I just heard of this tvshow a while back.. and I absolutely fell in love it’s like I got charmed+humor back .. sad to find out it got canceled do hope it will be picked up by another..

Seriously I can’t believe ABC are being so stupid as to cancel a show after one season. Talk about not giving it a fair shot! And how are they gonna get anywhere if ABC can’t be bothered to promote it! What idiots!
Really hope that Lifetime picks the show up for season 2 then I can still watch it online, as I am from the UK.
I absolutely love Eastwick and is definitely better than so many shows out there. It’s my guilty pleasure watching it!

I loved this show and as I have often found with American shows, they do not give them enough time to become popular before cancelling. Such a shame……….
