Current TV has announced the addition of two new “Politically Direct” election specials. Politically Direct 2012: 2012 Iowa Caucus, will air live on Tuesday, January 3rd at 7pm EST, and include three hours of  live coverage of the Iowa Caucus featuring  commentary and analysis from former Vice President and Current TV founder  Al Gore, “The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur” host  Cenk Uygur, and former Michigan Governor and host of the upcoming week nightly program “The War Room with Jennifer Granholm,” (premiering in January) Jennifer Granholm. Politically Direct 2012: 2012 New Hampshire Primary will air live on Tuesday, January 10th at 7pm EST which will also include 3 hours of live coverage of the New Hampshire Republican GOP primary.
Also Noteworthy:  On  Sunday, January 1st at 9pm EST, Current TV will premiere the feature-length version of the documentary How To Start a Revolution (with an encore at 12am EST).  This timely documentary by Ruardih Arrow features the untold story of Nobel Peace Prize nominee Gene Sharp, the world’s leading expert on nonviolent revolution. Sharp’s writings on civil disobedience have inspired uprisings across the globe, providing people with tools to topple dictators.

While at it, “The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur,” the newly-launched daily progressive commentary program, will air two-hour live shows each night from 7pm-9pm EST with repeats at 10p-12a EST during the week of December 26- December 30, (pre-empting “Countdown with Keith Olbermann,” in the 8-9pm timeslot, which is on holiday that week) before returning to it’s regular hour long format at 7 PM on Monday, January 2nd.
