America´s Got Talent Casting News: Howard Stern Joins as Judge

America's-Got-Talent-howard-stern-castingOut went Piers Morgan, in comes Howard Stern as judge of America´s Got Talent for season seven.
NBC announced today that Howard Stern, American radio personality, television host and author, will serve as the new judge on the top-rated summer alternative series “America’s Got Talent,” produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television.

Stern will provide his feedback on the colorful array of hopeful future stars who are currently auditioning in major cities around the country for the show’s upcoming seventh season.

Production of the live shows of “America’s Got Talent” also will be moving to New York, where Stern will continue to helm his SiriusXM radio program.

The announcement was made by Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC.

howard_stern_joins-americas-got-talent“Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to ‘America’s Got Talent’ starting this summer,” said Telegdy. “He’s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.”

Stern helped to transform American radio and put syndicated satellite radio on the map on SiriusXM. As the outspoken, unedited and headline-grabbing host of “The Howard Stern Show” radio program, Stern was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2005 and became a pop-culture icon with a massive loyal fan base. Since 1987, he has hosted numerous television shows, record-breaking pay-per-view events and home video releases. He also embarked on a five-month political campaign for governor of New York in 1994.

His two books, “Private Parts” (1993) and “Miss America” (1995), spent 20 and 16 weeks, respectively, on The New York Times bestseller list. The first book became a national sensation and was adapted into the feature film “Private Parts” (1997), a biographical comedy film that starred Stern and his radio show staff — and was a box-office success. Additionally, Stern performed on the film’s soundtrack which topped the Billboard 200 chart. Stern currently broadcasts his show “Howard 100” on the SiriusXM satellite radio station.

Cancelled Shows 2010: NBC renews America´s Got Talent

america got talent renewed cancelled nbcWe are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.

And this one is as no brainer as it can get, since NBC renewed America´s Got Talent, the reality TV Competition powerhouse.

NBC renewed America´s Got Talent for a sixth season, and since the show is summer´s highest rated series, the slot will be held for the show.

Albeit roster changes in the judging panels can be problematic, such as Kara Dio Guardi exits Idol news, Howie Mandel inclusion instead of David Hasselhoff was warmly embraced by audiences and the show did not suffer at all. (The whole Simon Cowell thing will be much more difficult in Idol, though)

Let´s also remember that America´s Got Talent (same as the franchise starter, Britain´s Got Talent) has a huge YouTube following, and the discovery of this season in Jackie Evancho certainly helped its cause.

Let´s also remember they held an open audition for America´s Got Talent via YouTube too, so the show is wisely embracing new media to help its development.

In the verge of this season finals of America´s Got Talent, renewal order came the shows way.

What do you think? Are you happy NBC renewed America´s Got Talent?

Complete Recap and Spoiler Results of America´s Got Talent S04E22 First Semifinal. Finalists announced

Last night it was all about America´s Got Talent. The first set of finalists were announced…

Complete Recap and Spoiler Results of America´s Got Talent S04E22 First Semifinal. Finalists announced

The first performances from the semifinals were done Tuesday night, which meant Wednesday was when the results would be announced, letting viewers know the first four acts that would return for the final and compete for the $1 million grand prize on “America’s Got Talent.”

Highlights from Tuesday night: Piers Morgan made another little girl cry, and she wasn’t even a contestant (it was magician Drew Thomas’ daughter); David Hasselhoff pictured three cowboy singers on a billboard in Las Vegas; Piers was nice to a dog and gave a 75-year-old woman permission to get in his shorts anytime.

To the results: Host Nick Cannon first asked dancer Arcadian Broad, The Texas Tenors, and Drew Thomas Magic to come to center stage. The first of the threesome to go home was Drew Thomas Magic.

That left Arcadian Broad and The Texas Tenors waiting to see which of them would get a spot in the finals. It was The Texas Tenors. The Hoff said, “America made the right choice!”

Be our guests: The Muppets visited, with Kermit and Miss Piggy offering up a bit of “Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart.” The Hoff took the stage later, to remind folks outside of Germany that he’s also a singer. He performed a cabaret-style rendition of “Feelin’ Good.”

Back to the results: Next to center stage were Grandma Lee, Tony Hoard & Rory, and Paradizo Dance. The first to go home was Paradizo Dance, and with the crowd chanting “Grandma Lee! Grandma Lee!” the 75-year-old comedian’s dream of winning the whole thing was kept alive.

With two spots left in the finals, Nick brought the remaining four acts to the stage: singer Kevin Skinner, high-flying dunkers Acrodunk, singers Voices of Glory, and the clogging sisters The Fab Five.

The first of the four acts to get a spot in the finals was Kevin Skinner.

The next act to go home was — insert long, dramatic pause here — Acrodunk. Piers shook his head as the result was announced.

That left The Fab Five and The Voices of Glory in the middle of the stage, and the decision on which act would continue rested in the hands of the judges.

Sharon was asked to speak first. She said Voices of Glory has contributed “so much” to the show and haven’t even shown their best yet. The Fab Five, she said, were also terrific. Then, she refused to give an answer and passed it over to The Hoff.

He asked both of the groups not to look at him and he struggled to say anything before passing it to Piers.

Piers hemmed and hawed himself, suggesting they might just send both acts home — which any keen viewer should’ve known meant they were going to send them both into the finals. And that’s exactly what they did.
