Cancelled or Renewed? The CW renews America´s Next Top Model for cycle 20 with male models

americas-next-top-model-male-models-cancelled-renewed-cycle-20-cwSome shows are long time members of the list of  renewed shows of 2012, and avoid the list of cancelled shows of 2012 year after year by revamping the concept. And now, one cycle after the cast revamped ANTM is on air, The CW renews America´s Next Top Model for cycle 20, in what will feature a series first, as male models will join the competition for the first time ever, with the chance to be the winners. My guess is that the winner will either get a campaign with Cover Girl or another brand as sponsor.

Maybe there can even be a male winner and a female Continue reading

Cancelled and Renewed Shows 2012: CW renews America´s Next Top Model for cycle 19

americas-next-top-model-cancelled-renewed-cycle-19Every week there´s more info to add cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012, and this is from the reality´s arena.

Cancelled and Renewed Shows 2011: CW renews America´s Next Top Model for two more cycles

americas-next-top-model-antm-cancelled-renewedStill catching up on all the cancelled and renewed shows that happened in the last month and a half or so.

CW renewed America´s Next Top Model for two more cycles, including one that´s going to feature past contestants in the first ever “All Stars” cycle. America´s Next Top Model All Stars will feature the models who became breakout characters and who had the most memorable stories from past cycles.

Renewal for America´s Next Top Model is not a surprise, since the reality show competition has been steady as a trademark from the fifth network.

So, next year we will have two more cycles of ANTM, one an All Stars cycle, one a regular one.

Which cycles are still needed on ANTM and these are just my two cents:

- Complete Plus Sized cycle

- Male cycle

- International cycle (bring 12 contestants from all over the world)

- Pretty girls cycle (We´ve had it with the exotic beauties, aka, “I wouldn´t hit on her in a bar cycles”)

- Veterans cycle

What do you think about this? Are you happy CW renewed America´s Next Top Model for a two more cycle? Let me know in the comments section.

America’s Next Top Model (often shortened to Top Model or abbreviated as ANTM) is a reality television show in which a number of women compete for the title of America’s Next Top Model and a chance to start their career in the modeling industry.

The show was created and is hosted by former talk-show host and model Tyra Banks, who also serves as the head judge and executive producer of the show. The first “cycle” premiered in May 2003 and was one of UPN’s highest rated shows. The show’s seventh cycle was the first of the shows among regular programming on UPN’s successor network, The CW, and thus far is the network’s highest rated series. The show will continue until at least the 2009-10 season. The opening theme is performed by Tyra Banks and is produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins. Banks co-produces the show with Ken Mok and Anthony Dominici for 10 by 10 Entertainment and Bankable Productions, syndicated internationally by KingWorld (and its successor CBS Television Distribution), and domestically as a “presentation” of VH1. For the 2006-2007, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 television seasons, ANTM was the #1 show in average viewers on The CW.

On February 16, 2010, The CW renewed ANTM for a 15th and 16th cycle.

George Foreman, Rod Stewart and Pat Benatar are celebrating their birthday

Like every day, we honor the birthday boys and girls.sarah-shahi-lw03

  • America´s Next Top Model 9th edition winner, Saleisha Cooper is turning 23.
  • Josh Ryan Evans, Oren Koolie in Ally McBeal would´ve turn 27 today. He died the same day in the real life as his character did on television: “In what producers of the NBC soap opera Passions maintain was an extraordinary coincidence, 20-year-old actor Josh Ryan Evans died of heart failure in San Diego on Monday — on the same day that the character he was playing on the soap also died of heart failure. “This could be a first for all of showbiz, not even soaps,” TV Guide soap columnist Michael Logan commented on the magazine’s website today (Wednesday). “It’s like being onstage in a death scene and dying while you’re doing it. I can’t think of anybody ever having that happen.” The death scene for Passions was actually taped last month. Producers say that although they were aware that Evans had a heart condition, they did not believe it was serious.
  • Sarah Shahi, Carmen de la Pica Morales in The L Word is turning 29.
  • Patricia Andrzejewski, A.K.A. Pat Benatar is turning 56 years old. Winner of 4-consecutive Grammy Awards for “Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female” (1980-1983) and nominated 4-more times in 85, 86, 88, & 89. Among many other things she performed Heartbreaker in a My Name is Earl episode.
  • George Foreman, Boxing star and Muhammad Ali´s nemesis is turning 60. He was also judge in American Inventor.
  • Rock and roll superstar Rod Stewart is turning 64.

Let all of them have a great birthday, and let´s raise our glasses for Josh Ryan Evans, may he rest in peace.

True Beauty – New Reality Show by ABC – Executive Producers Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher

true-beautyBoth Ashton Kutcher and Tyra Banks are considered beautiful. True. Anyone who´s seen any Tyra Banks in bikini photo would agree; anyone who´s check out That´s 70´s Show and Punk´d star would too…

So, they join forces in new Reality TV Show by ABC True Beauty.

It´s a mix between America´s Next Top Model and Big Brother. The series will determine the True Beauty of six stunning females and four handsome males who will live together in a spectacular Los Angeles mansion as they undergo a series of challenges to determine who is truly the most beautiful, explains ABC.com.

What´s the catch?

Each episode will showcase an outer beauty and an inner beauty challenge, during which contestants will be judged on everything from how well they perform in photo shoots to how well they respect their elders. The three judges will observe and critique the contestants’ behavior and eliminate one person each week. Only after someone is eliminated will the truth about the show be revealed to him/her, as they watch a video montage of their behavior captured by a hidden camera during the shoot.

The prize?

After nine weeks, the winner takes money in cash… but that´s not really the important part… The winner also gets a spot in PEOPLE magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People issue.

Let the challenge begin.
