Torchwood Miracle Day premieres new episode called End of the Road Friday August 26 10 PM on Starz

torchwood-miracle-day-end-of-the-roadTorchwood continues its run with episode eight of “Torchwood: Miracle Day,” entitled “End of the Road,” premieres on STARZ on Friday, August 26 at 10pm ET/PT. In the original hour-long episode, Jack (John Barrowman) faces a showdown with a man he thought was long since dead, while Rex (Mekhi Phifer) takes extreme action to prevent the collapse of society. Wayne Knight (“Seinfeld,” and Jurassic Park) continues his guest appearances as Brian Friedkin, a powerful Section Chief wielding great power first of three within the CIA. John De Lancie (Star Trek: The Next Generation) and Nana Visitor (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) also guest star.
“Torchwood: Miracle Day” begins with a day when nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging — they get hurt and sick — but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month’s time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural occurrence – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy.  The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?,” he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.

Cancelled Shows 2010: Torchwood Renewed! Torchwood picked up by Starz comes back to TV

torchwood renewed cancelled starz pickupWe are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.

And this is more like a Futurama thing…

Torchwood ended last year, but it found a new home and a new life…

“Torchwood” will be back on television next summer with Starz replacing BBC America as the sci-fi series’ American broadcaster.

The press release suggested the partnership with Starz “will allow Davies and his writing team to tell a more explosive and global story,” and noted that the series “has to date been located primarily in Cardiff, Wales,” suggesting Jack, Gwen and company might be traveling far and wide whenever he gets back to our particular globe.

It is then technically a renewal by Starz for Torchwood, or a Torchwood pickup by Starz, however you like to put it.

Are you happy Torchwood was renewed by Starz?
