Since I am trying to keep lists for renewed shows on 2011 and all the cancelled shows on 2011 updated, I have to post some news from across the pond. British network ITV renewed Downtown Abbey for third season, and that is the first step in order for the drama to get a third season by PBS too, even though in the United States it is yet to premiere the second season.
The first season of Downtown Abbey won the Emmy over favourite Mildred Pierce, and that alone is almost securing the fact that the US will see all three seasons, when second season is slated to premiere January 8 2012.
There will be a change of timeline for the third season of Downtown Abbey, as it will be set in 1920 and 1921.
Third season renewal order for Downtown Abbey by ITV consists of eight episodes, something customary in British television.
I just have to admire the exceptional quality of British Television. It is just impecable to watch.
What do you think? Are you happy ITV renewed Downtown Abbey for season three? Let me know in the comments section.
