We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.
Although CBS hasn´t already renewed NCIS for a Seventh season. Now, reports say that CBS is going to renew NCIS for a new season. So, everything´s good!
NCIS (promoted as Navy NCIS in season one), aka Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service or NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service, is an American police procedural television series revolving around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which conducts criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
The concept and characters were initially introduced in a two-part episode of the CBS series JAG (episodes 8.20 and 8.21). The show, a spin-off from JAG, premiered on September 23, 2003 on CBS and, to date, has aired five full seasons. Donald Bellisario, who created JAG, as well as the well-known series Magnum P.I., Airwolf, and Quantum Leap, executive produces NCIS. NCIS was originally referred to as “Navy NCIS”. However “Navy” was later dropped, as it was redundant due to the N of NCIS standing for Naval. NCIS returned for its sixth season on September 23, 2008 in the US, and in the UK, Friday April 17, 2009 on FX.
What is NCIS About? – Plot
NCIS is a television show that follows a fictional team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team (MCRT) special agents, headquartered at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. It is described by the actors and producers (on special features on DVD releases in the USA) as being distinguished by its comedy elements, ensemble acting and character-driven plots.
NCIS is the primary law enforcement and counter-intelligence arm of the United States Department of the Navy, which includes the United States Marine Corps. NCIS investigates all major criminal offenses (felonies), those crimes punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice by confinement of more than one year, within the Department of the Navy. This can be seen when the “NCIS team” is frequently assigned to high-profile cases such as the death of the President’s military aide, a bomb situation on a U.S. Navy warship, the death of a celebrity on a reality show set on a USMC base, terrorist threats, and kidnappings.
The “NCIS team” is led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon). Gibbs’ team is composed of Special Agent and Senior Field Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Mossad Liaison Officer Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), who replaced Caitlin ‘Kate’ Todd (Sasha Alexander) when she was shot by Ari Haswari (Rudolf Martin) at the end of season two. Ari himself was then killed by his half-sister Ziva in the beginning of season three. The team is assisted in their investigations by Chief Medical Examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum), Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) and Assistant Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen).
NCIS is currently led by Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll). The first Director seen in the series, Thomas Morrow (Alan Dale) left after a promotion to Deputy Director of DHS. Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly) was appointed Director after Morrow; she was killed in a shootout at the end of the fifth season.
Are you happy that NCIS gets renewed for a seventh season by CBS?
I love NCIS and I really dont want it to be cancelled. I want them to renew NCIS for as many series as they can manage. I want a 7th season because I love the show and so do a lot of other people. Everyone would be highly disappointed if CBS cancelled NCIS. The ratings for NCIS are higher than any other show. They would be stupid if they cancelled NCIS since its the best show out there with the highest ratings.
Please keep NCIS for a 7th season and even more seasons!!!
I also love NCIS. We think it is one of the best shows on television. I agree keep it going as long as you can CBS it is a winner..
It would make no sense to cancel NCIS and replace it with NCIS: LA.
Cancel NCIS and you can bet NCIS: LA will suck!
I am not normally a big TV watcher, but this show grabs me and holds my attention even if I have seen the episode more than once. This show needs to continue for as long as possible. I have never had any show that holds my attention as this one does.
Thanks….
NCIS is way better than NCIS LA
NCIS:LA more like another cop show.Than a Investigative show.I stopped watching after the first week.Nobody is better than Gibbs,Ducky,Abby and Tony.
I normaly do not watch local tv as there is nothing on that catches my eye. Well that was true till NCIS came out Ive watched every show from day one till now. The thought of no longer seeing Gibbs and his team just doesn’t seem real. The sheer thought of losing such a great show is like the thought of losing some great friends. If this show did get cancelled I would no longer have any reason to watch local tv. For news I have the internet and for all other shows I have satalight dish i.e Doctor Who, The Unit, different movies, and anime shows. I am looking forward to seeing not only a 7th season of NCIS but many many more.
I too think NCIS is great….really love the interaction between the characters….I can not say the same for NCIS LA. If they have to cancel an NCIS series then let it be NCIS LA…it lacks something…
I quit watching new episodes and re-runs. All /well all but Michael weatherly are realy great. Writers and producers need to make him grow up/kill him off. Real cops, most real cops don’t act the way he does. there are those and I worked with a couple who were “PUT DOWN ARTIST” like the Dinutso character. They were taken to the parking lot and got their arses kicked, grew up, or got out. The brass kept them around because they thought they were getting REAL INTEL on missbehving cops when in fact it was the “PUTDOWN JUVENILE that was the BASD COP. whn it gets cancled because of that character all the other actors should sue Weathrly for loss of income
