In this case, although NBC is not planning to bring The Listener back for a sophomore season, CTV (way to go, Canadian TV) is going to bring it back, and has confirmed a second season of The Listener consisting of 13 episodes.
This is more proof canadian TV is doing things right.
Amber Dowling, from TV Guide Canada brought us the news about The Listener being renewed for a second season.
The Listener is a Canadian supernatural drama set in Toronto about a young paramedic named Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik) with the ability to listen to people’s most intimate thoughts.
What is The Listener About? Plot
Toby is a 25-year-old first year paramedic who did not know his father and grew up in foster homes. Until now Toby has kept his ability to listen to people’s most intimate thoughts a secret and the only one he has shared it with is his old counsellor and confidant, Dr. Ray Mercer (Colm Feore). While he crosses the city of Toronto in his ambulance with his partner Osman “Oz” Bey (Enis Esmer) Toby helps persons in crisis and on the way come to terms with his own past. With the help of Detective Charlie Marks (Lisa Marcos) and his on-and-off girlfriend Olivia Fawcett (Mylène Dinh-Robic), an E.R doctor, Toby realizes that his gift can serve to help other people.
