Grey´s Anatomy Spoiler: Is Christina leaving Seattle Grace?

Well, that´s rarely a constant in Shonda Rhimes medical drama Grey´s Anatomy, after an episode featuring the departure of Arizona to Africa, and the breakup between Callie and Arizona we predicted earlier and Derek concern about Meredith maybe getting Alzheimer´s. (Actually it´s rare in all Shondaland, see Private Practice Charlotte getting raped storyarc for further proof)

The nice hope thing we got was the wink at a comeback on the Mark Sloan Lexie Grey relationship train, after Lexi told Mark not to stare at her a**, but then went away with a big big smile.

But, the thing is about Christina. Is Christina Yang leaving Grey´s Anatomy? Certainly not. Sandra Oh is to stay put in ABC´s hit drama.

Will Christina Yang leave Seattle Grace? Well, she quits her job at the hospital since she no longer wants to be a surgeon anymore, but, as Shonda Rhimes herself have been saying on her Twitter account, Christina is about to comeback in a big way.

That makes me think that Christina is not leaving Seattle Grace, but may take some episodes to see her come back to the old Christina self.

George O´Malley leaves Grey´s Anatomy at the end of the season

trknightandkatherineheiglWe already knew that Izzie Stevens is dying, we already got into another Grey´s Anatomy Season 5 fiasco with Christina Yang being a puppy teenager in love.

Shonda Rhimes and his writers team is trying to salvage the show by bringing Addison Montgomery back to Grey´s Anatomy to save Archer´s life.

But the show is still suffering what I like to call the Allymcbealization, a great and succesful show that misses every single season 5 call and ends up being atrocious. Grey´s Anatomy is still a good show, but way down from an A show to a C show.

Seattle Grace is about to lose another doctor.

Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight, who has played lovable intern George O’Malley since the show’s debut, has asked producers to write him off the hit medical drama.

While details of his exit have yet to be ironed out, a source close to the situation says that it seems likely Knight’s request will be granted and he will be released from his contract.

Why does Knight, who remains a fan favorite, want to leave?

“Have you seen the show lately?” says People Magazine´s source. Knight has received little screen time this season, with the show focusing on controversial storylines like the romance between Katherine Heigl’s Izzie and her long-dead lover, Denny.

“It’s time to move on,” says the source. “It just feels like this is the right time to go.”

The writers are in a crossroad now:

Should George O´Malley die? Should T.R. Knight character at Grey´s Anatomy pursue another professional choice? Should O´Malley be written off with no further explanation? Let´s see…

Done it, done it, done it… All of the above have already been done by Grey´s Anatomy writers, remember Isaiah Washington, Doctor Preston Burke who was sent off after a homofobic remark about T.R. Knight, and he left Christina Yang at the altar.

Then, Erica Hahn, played by Brooke Smith was sent off with no further explanation after a lesbian relationship with Callie Torres.

Yet again, Kate Walsh pursuing a new career opportunity and creating spinoff Private Practice around the life of Addison Montgomery and her new coworkers. Now it´s Addison to the rescue as Grey´s Anatomy downspiral keeps on going.

Finally, Izzie Stevens, Katherine Heigl´s role, after the whole I see dead people fiasco, turned from a fan favourite into one of the most annoying characters in Television. There´s no other way for her than to the grave.

So, that limits writers choices for T.R. Knight character.

We, the fans of Grey´s Anatomy have been suffering from the writing of the show so far this season… with all the Izzie Stevens – Denny Duquette ghost story of love.

Well, now in the latest episode of Grey´s Anatomy, we have to see a Christina Yang so not Christina Yang… all puppy love and shy teenager with Dr Hunt. Come on! Give us a break. Grey´s Anatomy is heading for a meltdown and a cancellation quite soon if this mishappens aren´t fixed.

Fortunately, things may change a bit when Spinoff Private Practice star Addison Montgomery comes back to Seattle Grace for a two hour mixed Private Practice and Grey´s Anatomy episode, in which Addie needs the help from Derek to save Archer´s live.

Thank God we still have Sloan and Torres and Bailey to pick up the slack of yet another oh so good show going down the toilet in season 5 (Insert here any Ally McBeal reference as you wish).
