“This American Life” Premieres Monday, January 10 at 10 PM/ET

ira-glass-this-american-life-premieres-current-tvThe televised version of the award-winning Public Radio Show hosted and executive produced by Ira Glass, “This American Life” tells compelling, unscripted first-person stories culled from across America.  For the TV show, Glass and a small team of radio producers and filmmakers traveled the country visiting Iowa pig farms, following a first-time filmmaker in California, photographing a raucous night at an Illinois hot dog stand and more. The results are true stories that are dramatic, emotional, and often hilarious.

Episode 1: “Reality Check” Premieres Monday January 10 at 10PM ET

Stories of people who hatched plans in the hopes of making their dreams come true, but were snapped back to reality by unpleasant outcomes: a rancher resuscitates a beloved pet, which later turns on him; people team to give an unknown rock band the greatest night of its life.

Episode 2: “Growth Spurt” Premieres Monday January 17at 10PM ET

What do you do if you‘re unhappy with where you are in life? Some people simply will themselves to the next stage. A widow, an ambitious first-time screenplay writer, and a 13-year-old girl all charge forward into their futures with mixed results.
