Cancelled Shows 2010: Happy Town gets cancelled by ABC

I really liked this show alot and wish they wouldn’t have ended it so soon.

Noooooooo……t can’t be canceled, I love that show, and my husband and I were really getting into it.

I don’t have “tv”, I watch shows on-line via hulu etc …does this count in ratings???
The majority of the people I know now rely on their computers for TV/Movies of choice instead of paying ridiculous amounts of money for cable or Satellite …
Does anyone know how accurate these ratings truly are, with the internet involved?

I’m not sad, I’m MAD!!!!! The show wasn’t even given a chance…ABC has a real history of doing this! They cancelled October Road (which, by the way, had a lot of the actors from Happy Town) & replaced it with another show that was terrible. And they have the audacity to bring back that ignorant show Wipe Out. That is why I watch less & less mainstream TV & am sticking more & more to satellite viewing. It is a lot more dependable. ABC used to be my favorite network, but now it has confirmed what I have feared for sometime….it $UCK$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cancelled? Really? How agravating!!! This show was interesting and starting to get really good. Like most people these days, I also do not watch much “Prime Time” tv. I watch online, like most of my generation. I try not to watch “new” shows because of the fact that many good shows tend to get cancelled just as you start getting “into” them. Shame on ABC. And to hear that Flashforward is in the same boat is even more dishartening! Shame, shame, shame!

I am so sorry to hear Happy Town has been cancelled. It seems that a lot of shows that are kept are just reality shows. I agree with what the other people are posting on their thoughts.

I am mad that abc cancelled the show it is and was a really good show. I watched it all the time I only have seen a few shows and now nothing. i am mad about this. and yes I agree that abc does this all the time and doesn’t give the show a chance. and they always cancell the good shows on and keep the crap on the tv.. please put Happy Town back on.

this really suck this was my favorite show. It reminds me of Harpers Island last summer that had good ratings. It would really suck not to find out the magic man and everythiong now

Just when I am invested the show is cancelled. I thought it was great and ABC should bring it back! I didn’t start watching LOST until the second season and I was hooked. I am now hooked on Happy Town.

If the ratings are low its probably because most people gave up on ABC… why get “into” a series when you know darn well the network has a nasty habit of just pulling the plug… and yes, I did get into Happy Town even though I knew better than to trust that network.

I’m SUPER #E*()@ MAD!!!! I was really getting into the show!!! WTF!. This was turning out to be a super awesome “Dexter-like” show. It had a cool cast, a twisted plot-line and I was lovin it! It was the only real “SHOW” that I had decided to follow. I’m a reality show junkie and this was the only NON-REALITY show I’ve been watching. It also doesn’t have vampires in it which is a plus! … Since everything now a days has to have vampires in it or something retarded like that. ABC!!!!! nooOOOOOO!!!!

I am very MAD that they canceled Happy Town. Perhaps the first episode had “too much information” to remember in one episode. There may have been too many facts and stories on the characters for people to absorb at one time. I had to watch it again ,as a family member missed it, and I enjoyed it more the second time, and appreciated the sound track and humor in it. It is disgusting to cancel a series with the wonderful cast it contained. Dirty Sexy Money was canceled and I found that absurd, considering the cast as well.
Everything today is reality shows and Vampires and Werewolves. It was really nice to see something different with rich characters, humor and mystery. I hope someone sees this note and another network picks it up. Supernatural is in it’s 5th? Season, ABC is so misinformed they would have dumped it at the first episode.

If you are hungry for more Dexter stories, try getting the books (on CD or load on IPOD) about Dexter written by Jeff Lindsay. I listened to them on CD in the car, and working at home, they are not quite the same storyline as the TV series and it is like getting 4 new TV series! The 5th one is out soon, “Dexter is Delicious” I can hardly wait. I wonder if Happy Town was originally written as a book? Maybe we can at least have some closure and the mystery solved.

I am so done with ABC. No wonder the ratings stink on new shows. Everybody knows that just as soon as you get to love a show, they will cancell it. I love Happy Town, I am just going to stop watching any to their new shows. Not worth the aggravation.

ABC again. Maybe someones is getting paid to wield the axe. Nothing else makes sense. They have so much stupid stuff that people are driven to the internet to watch shows. You would think that in this “age of technology”, that someone would look into the millions that watch online and through sats. A good show is a good show. Just seems like ABC doesn’t know the difference.

I am furious……how abt all time people have watched this show. And now they cancel???? For what? Reuns and RealityShows? Wake Up Up Network!!!!! They were plenty of people that enjoy mysteries, suspense stories, thrillers, and I am one…….I’m really PISSED.

I am very upset by this. I was religious about recording this and watching this. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed watching it together and we RARELY like the same shows. I thought the cast was excellent, and I can be extremely picky. I understand it was hokey at times, but it’s not like they were unaware of that. It was part of its charm. I have abosolutely no reason to watch abc now. Way to go idiots!!!!

I am done with ABC! They have a history of doing this. I really liked the few episodes of Happy Town and now they cancel it!!!! I will not watch ABC network anymore.

I’m totally angry with ABC after cancelling Happy Town. Left us all totally hanging after the 8th episode. Bad decision for ABC. I just wrote a 3 page rant to ABC, they only allow 500 characters. I SUGGEST FANS WRITE TO ABC AND DEMAND HAPPY TOWN BACK. At least give us the usual 12-13 episodes, tie up loose ends, then end it. No wonder ABC has such low ratings. I’m back to CBS and FOX and BRAVO.

OK I was under the impression that Happy Town was going be like the show Harper Island,Have an ending like a mini series for the summer, so why pull it just let it finish.That would be a good ideal for the future so a show can end with dignity.I want to see the end…. so please,please being it back……

Me and my sister are very disapointed with this cancellation. It was finally starting to all make sense and come together then you guys pull it after only a few episodes? Ridiculous! Hopefully ABC will have the brains to give notice/commercials when the remaining episodes will air to at least give us the chance to know who the heck the Magic Man is……

I am so mad I loved that show. I was always on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t wait till the next week to see what happened. And now I will never know. Really ABC you suck.

Wow!!! They don’t give shows much time to prove themselves in the USA. Two episodes with bad ratings and they dump it. Some of the best shows ever started slow but built viewers as it went.

It figures. It will probably be replaced with one of those stupid reality shows.

It really frustrates me that they cancelled such a great show. Maybe if they had aired it in Canada, it would’ve had a greater fan base. Unfortunately I only discovered it existed through the internet. I urge anyone that enjoyed the show to express any disappointment in its cancellation. This is ridiculous.

It was a great show and I was excited to actually see something refreshing and interesting. I am so tired of reality shows wasting good air time not everyone likes that crap. The least they could have done it give it an ending instead of cancelling it out of nowhere like they did. Stupid abc!!

I thought that Happy Town was a great show, it kept you wanting to watch and know what was coming next. I’ve now watched the last episode up and am itching to know what is next to come! ABC should have at least given it a chance, finished out the season instead of just quitting in the middle, leaving viewers hanging on be a thread and nothing now.

This one of the best shows on and now they canceled it! Not fair! and the last episode was a surpriser. Who knew that would be the Magic man!

I love this show. I anxiously wait to see each new episode I hope that someone takes these comments seriously and reconsiders the cancellation of this great show!!!!!

Loved the show, it could have been one of the greats, writing was a bit shabby at times but it had great potential. Such a shame the show has been cancelled.

Huh? I didn’t see the episode where they reveal who the Magic Man is! 🙁 ABC.com only has six episodes listed, and those are the same six that aired on TV. Where did some of you see #7 and #8? (And yes, I am FURIOUS too over this cancelation! I enjoyed drooling over Lauren German each week!)

I am really disappointed they canceled the show. It had a great cast (Sam Neil is one of my all time faves), and could have really developed a following if given half the chance. Hopefully we will at least all get some closure and find out who the “Magic Man” is. 🙁

Yeah they canceled it just like they did to Eastwick which was another really good show that they didn’t even give a chance while they leave shows on like Ugly Betty. Who in the hell watches that show. At least Happy Town had some mystery and suspense to it. I’m really hating ABC. They take away all the good show and leave the crap show that no one really watched. They should at least let us know who the magic man is and show the last episodes.

I am really disappointed that this show was ancelled, it was really getting good. I think if given another chance and promoted better it would really take off. Myslf and everyone else I got to watch Happy Town really misses it. Too bad for ABC they missed out on a good show here.

Jan. 10, 2011 Taped the show last year but finally started to watch the 6 episodes while I was on the treadmill. It has to be a good show to keep me on the treadmill and Happytown did it. For crying out loud why did it get cancelled? Try it again please!
