American Idol Season 8 episode 3 – Matchup with Obama´s Inaugural Ball

Tonight we already wondered about the matchup between Obama´s Inaugural Ball and American Idol

So… besides all new auditions… what´s up in the American Idol world?

Sanjaya’s Revealing Memoir
A lot of people who watched the sixth season of American Idol might have wondered exactly what Sanjaya heard while singing, and his new tell-all book just might answer that! It’s entitled Dancing to the Music in My Head: Memoirs of the People’s Idol. According to, the book will outline the week-by-week “analysis” of his time on AI, including some of the “pointers” he received from mentors like Diana Ross and Jennifer Lopez. He also touches on what he thinks of the fervor surrounding his reign, including the reason why Ashley Ferl (Crying Girl) became so emotionally involved, and why an “anti-fan” staged a hunger strike in order to get him voted off the show.
Sanjaya is also releasing a five-track EP of the same name on January 20 to go along with the memoir.

Jordin Sparks has had a huge year with the tremendous success of her duet with Chris Brown, and she’s giving back with not one, but two, Super Bowl-related charity events. According to, the season six winner will join celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi for an event called “Up Close and Personal” at Roy’s Tampa restaurant. The night will feature food, drink, music, an auction, and a meet-and-greet session. Jordin will also perform in concert at Grace Family Church in Lutz. Proceeds from both events go to Tampa-based Sparks’ Charities, which is run by her godmother, Christa Watson. The charities include Uplift Excellence Foundation and 1voice, and the money will benefit the World Children’s Center, an Atlanta-based charity that is trying to assist homeless children. More information can be found at
Jordin has been a busy young woman. She was recently a bridesmaid in fellow Idol Gina Glocksen‘s wedding. She also sang at one of the inaugural parties in Washington, D.C. today. On Sunday, she sang the National Anthem at the NFC championship game between the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles.
