asylum-web-series-reviewWeb Series is a growing format and a great vehicle to find new voices and talent. Here, at I´m trying to do my best to help, and therefore offering this space to all those webseries creators that may be around to help put the voice out about their shows. In this one, Asylum, we take a look at what happens at St. Dympna Hospital for the Criminally Insane where only the most difficult cases are sent. The doctors live on the grounds and operate like a close-knit family. Their methods of treatment are often described as unorthodox, but because they handle the worst of the worst without complaint, the staff is mostly left alone.

That is, until a recent outbreak of violence at the hospital forces the Department of Mental Health to send an agent to investigate. What he discovers is a hospital spiraling out of control, a staff hiding dark secrets, and a mystery within these walls unlike anything he could have ever imagined.

Asylum, the web series, has six episodes in the first season, and also features a three part web documentary.

A web Series created, written and produced by Dan Williams and directed and co-produced by Scott Brown, show has a cast of 17 actors including Dingani Beza playing Patrick Aubert, Sophiw King playing Suli Urban, Carey Fox playing Joseph Vasiliev, Matt Harrison playing Louis Thurgood, Darell Philip playing Bartholomew Jacobs, Beth Triffon playing Rachael Mendez and Rhobye Wyatt playing Tabitha Lewis.

Show´s already posted season finale and hopes to keep going.

You know show has quality, since it´s Official Selection for Clicker Best of 2010, Official Selection of New York Television Festival, and 2010 Official Selection Anaheim International Film Festival. Show also has 9 Intertube Nominations for Best Trailer, Best Editing, Best Additional Content, Best Looking, Best Ensemble Drama, Best Actor in A Drama, Best Directing in a Drama, Best Thriller and Best Overall Show.

I loved the show all around, it bugged me a little that being on Blip it takes longer to cache that it would take on YouTube, but fortunately Asylum turned out to be worth it.

Every case they present is in two parts, being Marvin Ullrich, Jessica Cartwright and Eugene Wilson the cases we got to see.

The suspense music reminded me a lot of the mistery parts of Lost. Thumbs up for Asylum.
