justified-cancelled-renewedGood shows can go on their own terms if they don´t overextend their welcome. Such is the case for FX´s cop show Justified, which has been renewed for a final run, instead of getting cancelled due to drop in the ratings.

That´s not bad news at all, since the show has just launched season five, meaning there will also be season six, to get the show to a conclusion. If we see that Boardwalk Empire is going next season, and also Justified, that means two acclaimed shows will end next year, after long runs that have been nothing but successful.

FX Networks CEO John Landgraf made it official at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Tuesday. The executive portrayed the decision as one made by the showrunner Graham Yost and star Timothy Olyphant. “We talked about it a year ago and they felt that the arc of the show and what they had to say would be served by six seasons instead of seven and I regretfully accepted their decision,” he said.
