There´s a YouTube video going around with the experience of a participant who said the audition process for American Idol is nothing like what it looks like on TV. She said that producers basically don’t choose singers based on who sings the best, but they choose people based on a certain genre or style they are looking for each season.
She said she enjoyed the audition process on American Idol, but they don´t choose based on talent but on style and TV potential.
