All of us when kids played with Legos, some still play with them. Kids play with Legos now, kids used to play with Legos then. That´s the beauty of Legoland. Everybody can enjoy it. So, in this article, I will review and give you some tips when you are planning a trip to Orlando Florida to visit Legoland.
The first thing you will notice when visiting Legoland is: My Goodness, how can they do this with Legos! Yes, the art is amazing, and you will start to develop admiration for the works of the Lego Artists. You will also start to wonder how long it took to make every single thing out there.
First things first: Is it worth it to take the car and drive about 50 miles to Winter Haven in order to visit yet another park? Short answer: Yes. Now I will start my long answer.
It is much smaller than the big parks of Disney and Universal and lacks all the adrenaline of that magic, but at the same time, it makes it up in a surprising way by the amazement you will find when looking at the things done in Legos. Creativity knows no limit and Legoland proves it. Another good thing is that it is less tiring than other bigger parks and you can take your time to take a look at every detail in the constructions. You can easily spend all day and not end up exhausted at the end of the day when going back to your hotel.
Infinite possibilities to create with those little bricks. The first thing we visited was a park area that looks like a farm where you can see the produces from Florida: Fruits, Vegetables, Cows, Wood, all in a mixture between real nature and Legos.
Then you move to a square where you will visit several cities replicas and that is unlike anything I´ve ever seen in terms of replicas. A couple of hours and you wouldn´t notice you´ve been staring for so long. New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Miami, Washington, Kennedy Space Center among others. The detail is impressive.
And… if you are a fan of Star Wars, you can take a look at the replicas of some of the most iconic scenes from the franchise, you will see Tattoine, and you will also have the photo op with Real Life-sized Lego versions of Darth Vader and Darth Maul.
There´s also a spot with Dinosaurs made in Legos, You can even hop onto a couple of them. You won´t stop taking pictures, mark my words. There are characters made with Legos in the cafeteria sections, there are everywhere.
Then you go to the Ford´s Drivers Academy, A great place for families. We did not enter it as we were doing the trip as a couple, but we took a look at the Ford Explorer replica, and it looks great. But also, as a parent you can watch your kids go around in a Legocar after getting a brief lessons on driving and road signs. When they end their tour, they get a nice “Driver License” memorabilia.
Then there are other games like rollercoasters and carts and things like that, but much more kid friendly. I´d say they won´t get scared.
There is also a whole section about Chima for the fans of the show, and much more.
I´d say this is a good attraction to visit if there´s a Holiday or for the weekend as you will find it much quieter than Disney or Universal (those I recommend you do on weekdays if you can so choose).
