Coming from Latin America, I know our films usually lack the funds to get the best Sound Editing and Mixing, and the difference shows. I´m not talking about the new films anymore, but our classics for sure… A good Sound editing makes a ton of difference. This year, the nominees were:
Alan Robert Murray and Bub Asman for American Sniper, Martin Hernandez and Aaron Glascock for Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), Brent Burge and Jason Canovas for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Richard King for Interstellar and Becky Sullivan and Andrew DeCristofaro for Unbroken.
And the Oscar goes to Alan Robert Murray and Bub Asman for American Sniper.
