Britain´s Got Talent is a great show, where Paul Potts and George Sampson came out… and where Susan Boyle made a breaking performance for You Tube.
Britain’s Got Talent is a British television show on ITV and part of the Got Talent series. Presented by Ant & Dec, it is a search for Britain’s next best talent act featuring singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other talents of all ages. Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. The winner of both series received £100,000 and are given the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the Royal Family, including the Queen.
On the Second Semifinal, Merlin Cadogan intended a stunt and escape that not even Houdini tried.
Who is Merlin Cadogan on Britain´s Got Talent?
Escapologist Merlin Cadogan is keeping his next Britain’s Got Talent trick a closely guarded secret – but he has revealed the details of another dangerous fundraising feat he has planned for later this year.
The 35-year-old Devon native wants to thank the locals in his hometown and beyond for their support – and he aims to do this by undertaking a death defying stunt which has the potential to leave him in very deep water indeed.
He told us, “The local people have really gotten behind me in my preparations for my Britain’s Got Talent trick”.
“I’ve been running up and down the beach with the helmet on, and I’ve been walking around Barnstaple town centre with the helmet on too – it’s all about pushing my boundaries so that my body learns to use my oxygen slower”.
I’ve been training every day and all the guys in the gym have been really supportive. To know that everyone believes in me make all the difference. It’s so important to me”.
To date, the locals have helped Merlin out in his preparation stages. But they may soon get the chance to see one of Merlin’s amazing feats as it happens – on a North Devon beach!
Merlin told us, “I’m getting another stunt ready for summer”.
“I’m going to be tied with chains to a chair on a beach in North Devon. And for three whole days the tide will come in and go out, covering me in about 15m of water, a total of six times”.
Luckily Merlin will be hooked up to some fancy breathing apparatus for this part of the trick!
“Then on the third day, I will escape from the chains and swim to the surface of the water”.
“It’s pretty dangerous – but we’re looking for the perfect site to ensure we get the tides right. The plan is to raise funds for the local hospice”.
The fearless fella may face many hardships with this stunt – but he will feel at home on the beaches of North Devon.
Born and brought up in the area, Merlin surfs most days and is a keen – and very well trained and experienced – free diver.
His record breath hold is now gobsmacking four minutes twenty seconds!
