zombies-history-united-statesHow to start reviewing this book? I can only safely say that readers will either think this is genius or crap, and there won´t be many finding middle grounds about it.

I cannot think of a better gift for many people I know than this book, but I also cannot think of a worst gift for others I also know. It is a book that certainly is in no gray area; it´s a love it or hate kind of book.

It is strange, bizarre and if you didn´t find it in the humor shelves in the bookstores, or the author wasn´t named Dr. Worm Miller you may even think the book is written as a serious attempt to reivindicate zombology as a scientific study, and zombies as a true part of the US history.

I have to say that I read Erich Von Daniken´s books as fictional essays and enjoy them very much, but I do not take them seriously. The same happens to me with Ancient Aliens and other shows of the likes. And I have this book as that kind of a read. But in this case, a parody to all of the above. And it works wonderfully as that. As a fun way to mock conspiration theories using zombies that are all the talk these days in pop culture.

In the book you´ll go from pre colony times and the origins of zombism, to NASA experiments, and walk along centuries of interaction between men and the undead, and even about hybrids.

All in all, it is a book I will recommend to all of those who do not take the books they read all that seriously and can enjoy a good parody. And especially for those who like to read about zombies. And to the rest to avoid this book altogether. After all I loved it, but this is a niche book; albeit a huge niche as The Walking Dead has proven lately.
