A new show premiered on AMC called Hell on Wheels.
Set in the 1860s it centers on former confederate soldier Cullen Bohannan, whose quest for vengeance has led him to the Union Pacific Railroad’s westward construction of the first Transcontinental Railroad.
It all begins with an onscreen caption: Washington DC 1865. The War is Over, Lincoln is Dead. The Nation is an open wound.
And all with somber music, and a soldier entering a church to confess.
