kennedy-center-honors-cancelled-renewed-cbsThere´s more info to add cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012, and I have to say this one is a relief after so many long running shows getting axed. CBS renews Kennedy Center Honors until 2018, bringing the veteran ceremony well over fourty years on air.The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. The Honors have been presented annually since 1978 in Washington, D.C., during gala weekend-long events which culminate in a performance for—and honoring—the Honorees at the Kennedy Center Opera House.
The Honors were created by George Stevens, Jr. and the late Nick Vanoff; as of 2010, Stevens remains involved as producer and co-writer for the Honors Gala. From 1978 until 2002, the ceremony was hosted by Walter Cronkite; since 2003, it has been hosted by Caroline Kennedy.

“The Kennedy Center Honors continues to be one of the most prestigious broadcasts on all of television, and we are honored to be its host,” said CBS Corp. president and CEO Leslie Moonves when announcing Kennedy Center Honors renewal.

What do you think? Are you happy CBS renewed Kennedy Center Honors until 2018?
