Today was a heavy day on announcements for both the list of renewed shows of 2012 and the list of cancelled shows of 2012. To close the day, let´s review this one: CBS Distribution renewed Jeopardy! through 2016 to run on ABC Stations.
On the official announcement, Joe DiSalvo, President of Sales for CBS Television Distribution stated that Alex Trebek has also extended his contract to come back as the host for Jeopardy! in this full renewal order.
Jeopardy! is an American television quiz show created by Merv Griffin in 1964. Like most programs of its genre, it features trivia in a wide variety of topics, including history, language, literature, the arts, the sciences, popular culture, geography, and wordplay; however, unlike them, it has a unique answer-and-question format in which contestants are presented with clues in the form of answers, and must phrase their responses in question form.
When this order for Jeopardy! ends show will be 33 seasons of air and over 5,000 episodes. Not bad, huh?
