louie-cancelled-renewed-season-five-fxI guess if you ask FX they would renew Louie in a heartbeat for as many episodes as possible; but hey; it´s not them that make all the decisions. Louis C.K. was a bit exhausted between filming season four and his movies career. So he wanted a shortened season five, and when he asks you for that, you give him that. That´s why FX renewed Louie for season five, which will consist of seven to eleven episodes, shortening from the fourteen season four had. FX CEO Damon Landgraf is confident this will give Louie all the room he needs to be creative will also be able to pursue his film projects and not end up burnt out after this year. Let´s remember Louie took two years to make these fourteen episodes from season four.

“Louie’s fourth season was once again groundbreaking. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking—always thought provoking,” said Landgraf, praising show star and creator C.K.

Louie puts a spotlight on C.K.’s everyday ordeals, his quest to find love and his pursuit of humor. Each episode features a scripted story and a mix of his stand-up comedy, which is original material for the series. The single-camera comedy is shot entirely in New York and features a unique mix of Louis C.K.’s stand-up comedy and scripted stories.
