in-memoriam-2016-film-television

Too many we stars we lost in 2016.

2016 has been a cruel year, from start to finish in terms of taking away from us iconic beloved figures in both film and television. Very early in the year we had to say goodbye to David Bowie and Alan Rickman. January took away from us also Glenn Frey, Ettore Scola,  Dan Haggerty, Abe Vigoda, Mike Minor and many more. February took away two icons of writing as Umberto Eco and Harper Lee, among others; March had us say goodbye to funny man Garry Shandling; April took away Prince… Prince! I still can´t get over his loss.
Alan Young left us in May, and with him the memories of Mister Ed… June took away some of childhood favorites, as MIchu Meszaros, also known as Alf, and Rubén Aguirre, el Profesor Jirafales in El Chavo del Ocho, or funny tough guy Bud Spencer, as well as the heartbreaking loss of an up and comer like Anton Yelchin.
July was cruel on directors, taking away Michael Cimino, Abbas Kiarostami and Héctor Babenco; while August took away one of my country´s biggst icons on the history of television: Juan Carlos Mesa; as well as global funnyman Gene Wilder, and the man inside R2D2: Kenny Baker.
September took away Curtis Hanson, Bill Nunn and Alexis Arquette, among others, while October took Kevin Curran and Michael Massee, and November took Florence Henderson and Robert Vaughn.
But December… oh, December, you were the cruelest of them all… Alan Thicke, Bernard Fox, Peter Vaughan, E.R. Braithwaite, Zsa Zsa Gabor… and both Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds…
May they all rest in peace.
