In what we can call the absolute breaking of the Friends curse for Matt LeBlanc, Showtime just renewed Episodes for season four; and it took Matt LeBlanc embracing the role of being himself what made that curse breaking possible.
Jennifer Aniston went on to the movies, effectively breaking her curse too, and Courteney Cox managed to get Cougar Town to five seasons and a change of network in between to break hers.
Matthew Perry, who has had the best shows after Friends, doesn´t seem to get past it, as they are all good shows with good critics but all one and gone.
The new season of the SHOWTIME and BBC co-production will include nine episodes and will go back into production in 2014.
EPISODES stars Matt LeBlanc in his Emmy®-nominated and Golden Globe® Award-winning role as a fictionalized version of himself. Season three – premiering Sunday, January 12th at 10:30 P.M. ET/PT – picks up with Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig), the English couple whose hit U.K. sitcom is remade for U.S. audiences and corrupted beyond recognition, back together but they soon discover that it’s not so easy to heal old wounds. Things get no easier for Matt this year as his career and ego continue to be pummeled. New guest stars include Chris Diamantopoulos (24) in a season-long arc; Roger Bart (Revenge) appears in four episodes as LeBlanc’s agent; along with Tracy Spiridakos (Revolution) as a family member of actress Morning Randolph (Mircea Monroe).
