USA Network premieres Certain Prey with NCIS Mark Harmon November 6 9/8 C

John-Sanfords-Certain-Prey-mark-harmonYou know that Mark Harmon is torching television for a long time now, specially with NCIS, well, get ready for a whole Sunday of Mark Harmon-y coming your way.

USA Network presents the world premiere of the original movie JOHN SANDFORD’S CERTAIN PREY, based on the novel by best selling author and Pulitzer Prize winner John Sandford, on Sunday, November 6 at 9/8c. The movie stars multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Mark Harmon (“NCIS”) as Minneapolis Deputy Police Chief Lucas Davenport. With the body count rising, Davenport pursues a hit woman and a murderous lawyer. The movie was written and directed by Chris Gerolmo (“Citizen X,” “Mississippi Burning”). Harmon serves as executive producer along with Michael Jaffe and Howard Braunstein of Jaffe-Braunstein Films, LTD (“The Informant,” “The Client List“).

NCIS, one of USA’s highest-rated acquired series – and one of the highest-rated series on television – will precede the original film, with an all-day marathon beginning at 10am ET on USA and running through the premiere of JOHN SANDFORD’S CERTAIN PREY at 9/8c. USA will also air for the first time an episode from the eighth season of NCIS as the last episode of the marathon.

JOHN SANDFORD’S CERTAIN PREY centers on Lucas Davenport (Harmon), the Deputy Chief of Police for the city of Minneapolis. Davenport doesn’t need his job; he could have retired long ago with the money he made designing computer simulations. But Davenport loves what he does just as much as he loves nice suits, fast cars and women. When a cop is shot after witnessing the murder of the wife of a local real estate lawyer, Davenport is called to the scene. The cops quickly zero in on the husband as the prime suspect until a team of FBI agents (or “feebs” as Davenport describes them) descends on Minneapolis with evidence linking the crime to elusive hit woman Clara Rinker (Tatiana Maslany). Taking charge of the investigation, Davenport suspects that Clara is not working alone and sets his sights on Carmel Loan (Lola Glaudini), a high-powered attorney with an intense obsession for the real estate lawyer. As Carmel and Clara try to cover up their crimes, the body count grows and Davenport does what he does best — break all of the rules to nab this deadly duo.

There are over 20 bestsellers in the PREY series of novels; CERTAIN PREY is based on the tenth novel.

Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor Mark Harmon is probably most recognized for his role as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the #1 scripted show on television, CBS’ hit “NCIS.” He’s enjoyed a successful career in television, film and theater. His feature films include “The Presidio,” “Wyatt Earp” and “Summer School,” and on the small screen he has starred in such series as “Reasonable Doubts,” “Chicago Hope” and “St. Elsewhere.” Harmon has also guest starred on shows including “Moonlighting” and “The West Wing,” for which he earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Recently, he voiced the character of Superman in the Warner Home Video release “Justice League: Crisis on two Earths.” On stage, Harmon has appeared in Kevin Wade’s “Key Exchange,” Bill C. Davis’ “Wrestlers,” and Mark Medoff’s “The Wager.” In addition, he has done several successful productions of A.R. Gurney’s hit play “Love Letters” with his wife, actress Pam Dawber.

And the year came out in its first week already giving way to a couple renewals.

CBS renews NCIS for a ninth season, and it should not surprise anybody because the show set a new series record in total viewers with 22.9 million and its star Mark Harmon signed a new two-year deal to continue on the hit show.

Mark Harmon will earn half a million dollar per episode in what I call a “I would do it in a heartbeat” kind of deal.

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler says why the decision to renew NCIS for season nine was a go: “It’s simply amazing that a show in its eighth season continues to perform at such an elite level,”

Do you want more reasons to renew NCIS for season nine? Last season, NCIS became the  most watched scripted program on television, with an average audience of 18.9 million viewers. Cancelled Shows 2009: NCIS gets renewed for a new season by CBS!

ncis-renewed-cancelled-cbsWe are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.

Although CBS hasn´t already renewed NCIS for a Seventh season. Now, reports say that CBS is going to renew NCIS for a new season. So, everything´s good!

NCIS (promoted as Navy NCIS in season one), aka Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service or NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service, is an American police procedural television series revolving around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which conducts criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

The concept and characters were initially introduced in a two-part episode of the CBS series JAG (episodes 8.20 and 8.21). The show, a spin-off from JAG, premiered on September 23, 2003 on CBS and, to date, has aired five full seasons. Donald Bellisario, who created JAG, as well as the well-known series Magnum P.I., Airwolf, and Quantum Leap, executive produces NCIS. NCIS was originally referred to as “Navy NCIS”. However “Navy” was later dropped, as it was redundant due to the N of NCIS standing for Naval. NCIS returned for its sixth season on September 23, 2008 in the US, and in the UK, Friday April 17, 2009 on FX.

What is NCIS About? – Plot

NCIS is a television show that follows a fictional team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team (MCRT) special agents, headquartered at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. It is described by the actors and producers (on special features on DVD releases in the USA) as being distinguished by its comedy elements, ensemble acting and character-driven plots.

NCIS is the primary law enforcement and counter-intelligence arm of the United States Department of the Navy, which includes the United States Marine Corps. NCIS investigates all major criminal offenses (felonies), those crimes punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice by confinement of more than one year, within the Department of the Navy. This can be seen when the “NCIS team” is frequently assigned to high-profile cases such as the death of the President’s military aide, a bomb situation on a U.S. Navy warship, the death of a celebrity on a reality show set on a USMC base, terrorist threats, and kidnappings.

The “NCIS team” is led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon). Gibbs’ team is composed of Special Agent and Senior Field Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Mossad Liaison Officer Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), who replaced Caitlin ‘Kate’ Todd (Sasha Alexander) when she was shot by Ari Haswari (Rudolf Martin) at the end of season two. Ari himself was then killed by his half-sister Ziva in the beginning of season three. The team is assisted in their investigations by Chief Medical Examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum), Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) and Assistant Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen).

NCIS is currently led by Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll). The first Director seen in the series, Thomas Morrow (Alan Dale) left after a promotion to Deputy Director of DHS. Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly) was appointed Director after Morrow; she was killed in a shootout at the end of the fifth season.

Are you happy that NCIS gets renewed for a seventh season by CBS?
