Travel Channel came out on fire earlier this month by renewing a whopping eight series. Among those gett Renewed was Hotel Impossible, that follows Hospitality Expert Anthony Melchiorri as he travels United States trying to improve hotels all across the country. The announcement was made by Laureen Ong, President, Travel Channel by saying: “This is an exciting time for Travel Channel as we renew a record number of television series that have resonated so well with our viewers … As we work towards refreshing our programming line-up – away from the travelogues and more towards a lean forward experience – we plan to continue to break free from the traditional ideology behind travel programming, and bring our audience a diverse array of entertainment through the many unique perspectives of our travel experts and enthusiasts.”
In the meantime, Andy Singer, GM of Travel Channel said: “From the inner-workings of airports, to rescuing struggling hotels to the adrenaline-infused global quest for coffee, these returning series continue to offer viewers immersive, entertaining and exciting travel-related programming … We are providing our viewers with compelling stories and unique characters as we take them on extraordinary adventures each week.”
For some hotel owners, bringing in hotel “fixer” Anthony Melchiorri is their last hope! Back for a third season, “Hotel Impossible,” featuring Melchiorri with over 20+ years of experience in the hospitality business, helps turn struggling hotels into bustling tourist destinations. Every episode features a hotel either not living up to its potential or on the verge of closing. Melchiorri assesses each property and identifies its biggest problems. He then meets with the staff – from the owners and general managers, down to front desk receptionists and housekeeping – and determines the key operation issues. Joining Melchiorri on location are a variety of highly experienced designers including Blanche Garcia, Casey Noble and Alison Victoria, who will help transform key spaces in each hotel. As in earlier seasons, Melchiorri has just days to convince the hotel staff and owners to let go of the reins, formulate a plan, revamp the hotel and re-motivate its staff.
“Hotel Impossible” is produced by Atlas Media Corp. for Travel Channel. For Atlas Media Corp, executive producers are Bruce David Klein, Lorri Leighton and Rob Green. For Travel Channel, the executive producer is Brian Leonard.
