What´s the best place to be for a guy´s guy? What´s the best place for the ultimate bachelor? Probably the Ultimate Bachelor Pad!
DIY Network, the go-to-destination for home improvement television, has joined forces with Esquire, the must-read lifestyle magazine for sophisticated men, to create Esquire’s 2010 Ultimate Bachelor Pad. Premiering Thursday, Jan. 6, at10 p.m. ET, this one-hour special hosted by DIY Network expert and licensed contractor Amy Matthews, captures the transformation of a 9,000 sq. ft. family home in the Hollywood Hills into a state-of-the art bachelor pad complete with a recording studio and stunning living spaces constructed by an elite group of contractors and some of the most-renowned designers in Los Angeles, including a media room designed by Matthews.
In an effort to bring to life Esquire‘s “Man at his Best” motto, the team worked fast and furiously over four months to complete the massive construction process and gave designers six weeks to take the space from clean slate to the epitome of 21st century living. DIY Network captures everything that transpired, start-to-finish, including a rotating media room seating platform, a virtual reality flying simulator, and a waterwall fireplace. The special culminates with a star-studded Esquire House Opening Night charity event hosted by Sienna Miller, with A-list guests including Lance Bass, Kate Bosworth, Felicity Huffman, and John Legend.
The DIY Network special also takes a look back at the incredible Esquire homes featured by the magazine over the past eight years, illustrating that although there are many twists and turns during construction, the final result is nothing if not a masterpiece. A multi-page story on the latest property also appears in the January issue of Esquire.
In support of the special, Esquire and DIY Network are giving people the opportunity to win their own “Ultimate Bachelor’s Getaway,” an all-expenses-paid trip to Villa Del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto in Mexico.
