bbc-america-copper-cancelled-renewedIn a succint statement, BBC America announced that Copper is getting cancelled after two seasons, and this Sunday´s season finale will effectively be series finale. BBC America General Manager Perry Simon stated: “After 23 episodes, with Lincoln dead and the nation starting to heal, it seems a fitting moment to conclude this American story.”

The show, set halfway through the nineteenth century in New York, on Coppper Street returned for a second season that was to be around the days near Lincoln Assassination, with all which it implied in terms of political and social consequences.

At the center of the plot, Detective Kevin Corcoran struggles to tame the wartime metropolis while wrestling with personal demons, including the betrayal of his wife and best friend. And when Tammany Hall’s outspoken General Brendan Donovan, returns from the Civil War to restore law and order in the Sixth Ward, loyalties will be bought and sold both uptown and in the slums of the Five Points as Corcoran, and those around him, fight to find their places in an unforgiving city.
