Kapow, Swish, Lightsaber effect, Wow! Those are the factors that Visual Effects have been bringing to films forever, and while they usually are awarded to critically less acclaimed films while very popular ones, they are nonetheless one of the bog categories. In this year, the nominees were: Dan DeLeeuw, Russell Earl, Bryan Grill and Dan Sudick for Capitan America: The Winter Soldier; Joe Letteri, Dan Lemmon, Daniel Barrett and Erik Winquist for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes; Stephanie Ceretti, Nicolas Aithaldi, Jonathan Fawkner and Paul Corbouold for Guardians of the Galaxy; Paul Franklin, Andrew Lockley, Ian Hunter and Scott Fisher for Interstellar; and Richard Stammers, Lou Pecora, Tim Crosbie and Cameron Waldbauer for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
For this award, the presenters were Chloe Moretz and Ansel Elgort.
And the Oscar goes to: Paul Franklin, Andrew Lockley, Ian Hunter and Scott Fisher for Interstellar
