Cancelled Shows 2010: CBS Cancels Gary Unmarried

Put another steak in my heart why don’t you CBS.
First you take away The Unit, now Gary Unmarried.

Good call on canceling trash like Ghost Whisperer, but come on, what was wrong with Gary Unmarried!! If Sheen deserves $2M/episode, then Jay Mohr deserves at least $4M/episode!

Gary Unmarried is my entire family favorites show ever! Cbs is a huge idiot! How can they take away one of the best shows on television!?!?!?! I might have to boycott cbs for awhile cause I am sooo mad that they did this!

I can’t believe they are getting rid of one of their best shows. Has anyone seen the new line-up? Simply stated… HORRIBLE! Kudos, for getting rid of Jenna Elfman’s show…I mean it was just a TV version of “Knocked Up” who cares? So use that $ money saved on “Gary Unmarried”. You can’t leave us hanging now that we know Gary wasn’t even relly divorced. Next season could’ve been amazing but now we’ll never know 🙁

They cancelled Joan of Arcadia, they cancelled The Class, now they cancel Gary Unmarried. What the heck?! There was nothing wrong with it! It had even been People’s Choice for best comedy when it started and yet they end it (same as they did with The Class). Do the views of the people mean nothing?!

This is absolutley rediculous. Hopefully another network will be smart and pick up gary unmarried.

Too bad I saw a few episodes and laughed… It is pretty tough to get a show going. Seems like it was a blood bath at the networks, with long running and seemingly safe shows going to the chopping block. At least it made it two seasons, not quite enough for syndication. They had some good players Jay and company I am sure will get another gig….

I really love that show and wanted to see people’s opinions on it and it wasn’t just me who really liked the show. I hope some other network pick it up like NBC who are dying for something. I think it’s the curse of Paula Marshall. The poor lady can’t get a break.

Not sure who at CBS is checking in with the viewers to see how great a show Gary Unmarried is. Maybe they need to ditch the Nelson ratings and star taking into consideration the other methods people now use to watch a show. Gary Unmarried? I never missed an episode utilizing a DVR to watch because I was unable to tune in on a Wednesday night (but did when I could) or when online to view – (Hope the network folks are successfully data capturing and data mining those venues for rating information – new technology, new ways needed in which to gauge a shows success!

Talented cast led by Jay Mohr which seemed to capture a slice of American Pie each week and was truly entertaining. I truly appreciated the military element as well.

It had been years since I watched anything on CBS – NBC had been the king of the hill – until Gary Unmarried and Jay Mohr caught my eye during a channel surf. In the second season, I began to watch other shows on CBS giving the station an opportunity to prove itself. It’s ironic that CBS is going to cut its nose off to spite its face by canceling this show and as such canceling me viewing future CBS shows – I don’t think the data was gathered correctly, I found it to be popular, and not enough time was given by CBS to allow viewers to rediscover CBS as a station which Gary Unmarried ended up drawing people to such as myself.

I Guess the executives at CBS don’t mind playing second, third, or fourth fiddle to NBC which once held the lead in my viewing for years with Friends and Must See TV on Thursdays and whom I’ll now be turning to for that solid show that I can get comfortable with and not be disappointed in the network because the network didn’t look before it leaped and cut that one show you look forward to watching each week. For me that was GU with its great cast and crew.

Sorry CBS, you got canceled too – no Gary Unmarried, no CBS!

Really? Gary Unmarried cancelled? How is that stupid show Big Bang Theory still on? THAT is what people think is funny? I just can’t.

There isn’t a lot of shows out there that my husband will sit down and watch with me, but Gary Unmarried WAS ONE OF THEM. It was a GREAT show. I am tired of all the reality shows and it was refreshing to watch such good comedy.

Why don’t these networks cancel a lot of there stupid “Reality Shows!” Gary unmarried a great show, Trauma, great show, Mercy, great show– all cancelled. Taking good shows off, and keeping crap shows on!!!!

I must say the intelligence of the executives who made the decision to cancel Gary Unmarried is highly in question here!!! (actually,…there is NO question!) I thought this was a joke when I first heard! It won 2009 Best New Comedy Show for goodness sake!!! It was ABSOLUTELY our #1 favorite show on television! Never missed it. Recorded it & watched them again-they were so funny!! This is one seriously B~A~D decision, CBS!!!! I hope you realize the serious error you have made and put it back on! Or is your objective to turn people to other networks? If so, you have succeeded.

This was a great show. This was one of the two network shows (ABC, CBS, & NBC) that I watched. CBS should rethink this decision or maybe another network should pick it up…

Okay first off, I LOVED GU. However, I hate coming to these “forums” and reading the comments because almost always 100% of the blame goes to the networks. Now I must admit that after years of watching my favorite Television programs cancelled, I too was on the Down with the Network bandwagon. But, if you’re going to have passion for a show and make a post, at least have some grasp of the English language. For God’s sakes there’s a spell checker built right into the forum. When you see the little red squigly line under your word, it means that you spelled it wrong. Second, it is Rarely the Executives of a major network who make the decision to pull the plug on a popular program. Yes, for sure they have to make the final decision, but there are dozens of actors/crew members/advertisers/etc. who have claim to every program in one form or another. Most of you don’t pay close enough attention to the main actors in these situations. Since shows are usually filmed days even weeks before airing, how is it that so many of these actors find themselves on a new program, before the old one has even finished airing. It’s because THEY are the ones who torched your favorite shows. For all you know Jay Mohr himself was the one who was unhappy for ANY number of reasons, and you can’t exactly have the show without him. All I’m saying is that if you want to assign blame, and you want your voices heard, make sure that you are making them heard to ALL parties responsible in the cancellation of your favorite programs.

Home Boy should just hang it up he is not hot and when I watch the show, I find it rather boring and the scrip really sucks and the show really puts me to sleep just turn it on and it is time for a nap, the only way they will get a laugh out of me is if I drink a 6 pack before watching, not going to miss you.

It is okay to hate network for taking away a show you injoy because the ladies maybe really pretty or the guy is really hot and they remove that it can become frustrating and leaves you hanging for more. Or if the show is canned because there are not enough viewers watching the show. But all in all even if a show is great then for some reason it is taken away, but it is better to have a taste and alittle flavor of the show, then nothing at all?

I am really disappointed. I am beginning to think I shouldn’t watch any new shows the networks put out because every show I seem to love ends up getting cancelled. I really enjoyed Gary Unmarried as well as Accidentally on Purpose. I was really looking forward to a new season but to my surprise last night when I was setting my DVR for the fall line up…half of the shows I liked are now gone. And the new shows they have come up with seem from previews to be pretty lame. I give up, I guess I will just quite watching TV all together because they seem to keep nothing but trash on here. Please Put Cold Case Back on T.V, I really miss it big time and it was fun to see how people will lie to your face and they are trying to stay free as long as they can and point the detective in a new Direction so they can have more freedom and they give false leads and it is real stupid why people kill and instead of walking to freedom and go get another life and move on but they choose to take some one life and most of all smile or spend time with the people they hang out and make them suffer and watch them be sad. Cold Case made it so that even if they did not get the justice they needed on earth and there soul has rest at peace and they are restored in a full way to face there maker.

Dear Cold Case I Really made a boo boo and got in torch with Hell’s Kitchen but Cold Case come back to a station every one can get to and I bet we will watch the heck out of you, i really miss the sweet wonderful and sexy show, some of the men are hot young and old are creative and serious men with hopes and dream and protecting and watching each others back and make sure that justice is given for a person they get to know, throw other people and given peace to people who have been hurt and healing there broken heart.

Watching New Adventures of Old Christine and Gary Unmarried with my wife was something I looked forward to every week. I will no longer watch ANY CBS programs! I am not one to comment on forum pages, but I feel strongly enough about this particular subject that I am compelled to contribute to the discussion. My husband and I watched this show weekly without fail. We enjoyed the comedy SO much that we even taped it so we could watch it later in the week, as well. We are just sick to learn that the show has been canceled. If CBS pays any attention to forums like this, maybe they will rethink their move and pull the cast back together for another season. After all, how can a show win a prestigious award in 2009 and then be cut in 2010? It makes no sense! There are not many clean-but-funny shows on TV anymore. CBS has cut the wrong one.

I have to say, I’m actually not shocked…for the past several years, the execs @ CBS have apparently lost touch w/reality and stopped paying attention to what viewers actually tune in for. They started by cancelling Moonlight, the top-rated show in its time slot on Friday nights, stating that it was because of the writers strike. Then they recast Mr. O’Loughlin in another, though less original, medical drama and then cancel that as well. Now they’ve decided to drop their best sitcoms and their only reason for a Friday night line up, Ghost Whisperer. If the CEO’s would pull their heads out of their asses and pay attention, maybe they would realize they need to get rid of the re-vamp shows and reality shows and get back to putting original, brilliant programming on the air. I’m just waiting for the announcement that CSI or NCIS is cancelled, because they pull big numbers…guess in another two years or so they’ll have a completly new lineup. Bravo CBS, you really know how to listen to loyal viewers!!

Gary Unmarried was funny. Don’t get me wrong I like two and half men and Mike and Molly, but hawaii five o is the dumbest shit! With everything going on in the world we need more comedy not more dumb unrealistic cop shoes.

Gary was hilarious, The Unit was bad ass, both canceled. Seems CBS hired someone from NBC, because they are making some of the biggest dumbass decisions NBC made. I stopped watching NBC and now I’ll stop watching CBS. Fuck all the networks!!!!! Let’s all boycott

I cant believe you guys cancelled this show. It was something we looked forward to every week. Shame on you! If you are looking at ratings – I hope you take into account DVR. I never missed one episode thanks to DVR.

Cancelling Gary Unmarried……not a good choice. My husband and I looked forward to watching that every week. It was one of the first shows in a long time that really made you laugh. The son in that is hilarious. The chemistry of the whole crew was wonderful. Bad, bad choice.

oh come oooooooooooooooon, this is like one of THE best sitcoms ever made, and the mystery at the end of the season 2 finale, really CBS, please consider making a season 3, or at least an episode, that explains Gary’s choise between Allisson and the other chick whose name I cant quite remember right now.

While I wasn’t a crazy fan, as far as sitcoms go for me this one was amazing. I just loved the characters and was on the edge of my seat waiting for the ineviteable conclusion. And now I find out it was cancelled before Gary and his ex-wife could get back together? Come on, that’s just sadistic.

cant belive this show is cancelled, what are CBS thinkin off. with all the rubish they show they choose to cancele one of the funniest programs ive ever seen. and after just two seasons, and in that way. I wannted to throw my tv out the window when i saw the las EP. and then i found out it was the series finale. ive never been so angry to see a show been cancelled before! i hope they or another network brings it back it back.

After getting both seasons on itunes and watching them countless times, I can’t help but wonder what CBS executives think is funny in a sitcom.This one had everything you needed to make you laugh. Kudos to the writers of this show don’t let the decision of these clowns let you think you didn’t have a hit on your hands.

Even here in Holland we are bummed out! I was searching the net to see when gary unmarried would start again after watching the reruns over and over again, and now I find out its cancelled??? What the F*CK is that?!!!!? After friends this was the first sitcomb that caught me again. I’m very very sad now…

i am from the philippines and i was able to watch some episodes in a cable tv channel. I really enjoyed the show.. I hope cbs would consider putting it back on air…
