We are near closing the doors on 2011 but info still coming to fill the renewed shows on 2011 and all the cancelled shows on 2011 lists.
And this week is not letting me close those lists! Now, from the likes of MTV come the news: MTV renewed The Substitute for a second season.
The game show has performed well, specially in a key demo for MTV, therefore getting the comeback call.
Second season renewal order for The Substitute consists in 20 episodes.
What is The Substitute About? Plot Synopsis
The Substitute is a 30-minute game show in which comedian Jon Gabrus surprises unsuspecting high school students by taking over their classrooms and offering them the chance to win $5,000 cash.
Throughout the episode, students are asked questions in four rounds: “Things You Should Know” (academics), “Thinks You Do Know” (pop culture), “What You Do” (interactive challenges) and “What You Think” (polls).
Not bad an idea, but the category things you should know is more often than not the one that the students know less about, and that´s not as funny as the show portrays it.
