We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.
And this season, new shows are falling like crazy. NBC already cancelled Outlaw, ABC Family cancelled Huge, Fox cancelled Lone Star, ABC cancelled My Generation, and now ABC´s next victim.
ABC cancels The Whole Truth after only airing a handful episodes, but the show will be able to show all thirteen episodes in its rookie (and only) season.
The news was confirmed on Twitter by co-executive producer KristieAnne Reed. “ABC gave us the word,” she tweeted. “We will only make 13 episodes of The Whole Truth.”
So, this news of The Whole Truth cancellation by ABC is something that was quite expected since the show numbers were low, but it was a good show, and any Maura Tierney vehicle should get some vote of confidence, but the network could not wait any longer on the decision and ax The Whole Truth.
What was The Whole Truth About? Plot
The Whole Truth is an American legal drama series that premiered on ABC on September 22, 2010. Episodes air on Wednesdays at 10:00pm ET/9:00pm CT. I am sad that the Whole Truth was cancelled, but not surprised. The premise has been done twice before without success, but I had my fingers crossed that this time would be the charm. The Jury was my favorite of the three, but The Whole Truth and the other Bruckheimer show were a good try. I like seeing what really happened at the end. Oh well, at least we get to see the other nine episodes.
I think that “The Whole Truth” was one of the best new shows of this season. The chemistry between the characters, seeing the situation from both sides, and finally knowing what REALLY happened – it was like Law and Order except more interesting. I think it is a shame to lose this show, and will definitely watch the remaining ones.
What a shame – this was a fine show and I imaged it evolving into a great one – I wonder if another network will see its potential and pick it up? Personally, I’m very disappointed.
What a shame it is when intelligent shows like “The Whole Truth” get cancelled. Even more pathetic when stupid shows with no concept, bad writing, bad acting if any, and just plain inane stuff get extrememly high ratings and are the “talk” around the water cooler for days on end. This is what’s wrong with the picture. American media is encouraging more stupidity and killing intelligent, thought-provoking shows. What lessons are we teaching the kids here? That being stupid is the norm? And trashy TV shows are cool?
I LOVED The Whole Truth. It was great seeing the two sides. My son and I would try to figure out which side was right. Really going to miss it.
I HATE dramas but actually liked this show. I don’t think the timeslot was right. It followed several comedies and went up against established dramas. Move it to another night and re-air this show! Someone please pick up this show, my fiance and I really enjoy it.
