And today we are posting a lot of news:
ABC cancelled One Life to Live, but, in another shocking move, also cancelled All My Children! A show that´s been running for 41 years uninterrupted on TV. One of the big soap stones one would think was rock solid.
What is ABC thinking when cancelling All My Children? Are they going to introduce a new soap? Nope… they are not. The are launching a new show called Chew, a live show about anything and everything related to the world of food and beyond. Hosts include Mario Batali (Iron Chef America), Clinton Kelly (TLC’s What Not to Wear), Carla Hall (Bravo’s Top Chef), Michael Symon (Iron Chef America), and nutrition expert Daphne Oz.
Iconic Soap actress Susan Lucci, who played Erica Kane since the beginning said in a statement: “It’s been a fantastic journey. I’ve loved playing Erica Kane and working with Agnes Nixon and all the incredible people involved with All My Children. I’m looking forward to all kinds of new and exciting opportunities.”

Cancelling these two shows is absolutely horrible! If I could remove the ABC channel from my remote control I would do it! I have been watching these shows since I was a teenager, I am not 50 and still watching! I look forward to All my Children and One Life to live every day and the thought of not having them to watch anymore is devastating to me! There has to be a station that would be willing to pick these show up, if not, please someone Create one! Soapnet, how about you???
I only watch once in awhile just to catch up on whats going on I will miss my fav daytime tv I have watched the abc soap line up since i was a teenager maybe Soapnet will pick up these shows keep your fingers crossed
This is a stupid idea. How can ABC do this I think that everyone should stop watching ABC altogether. I would rather watch FOX or BET or ION television. All My Children and One Life to Live are the best soaps out there. I am really disappointed with ABC’s idea and their new show Ideas are just freaking stupid. I wouldn’t watch it. So this is One viewer who will not be entertained at all with this nonsense. other people should stop watching the ABC channel except for your news updates.
This is terrible. I have being watching the AMC and OLTL for 30 years and this so disappointing. I very unhappy about this and I will never watch ABC anymore. That was my only reason for watching ABC. I am going to tell all my friends what they have done and I hope they wills support ment. They are replacing it with more talk shows…I think talk shows are boring and it so many of them. ABC was origional because you could always set the TV and watch a soap opera and relax now if they think Iam going to watch another talk show they are crazy…not going to happen. with
Just can not blieve this is going to happen. My husband and I have been watching this show for forty years. We are both so disappionted. The first thing he said was now what will we watch? I guess the news was my answer.And when we watch the news it will not be on ABC. Stupid stupid to cancel such a long running show that we both felt were like our own children.
I’m shocked! I can’t believe ABC is cancelling “All My Children” and “One Life To Live”. I have been a faithful viewer since they first starting on ABC. I started working in the mid seventies so I would record shows and watch them evenings or on weekends. I am working from home now and watch them daily. I’m very disappointed, and the new shows you are replacing “All My Children” and “One Life To Live” do not interest me and ABC channel will not be viewed in our household! ABC ratings will decline for cancelling shows you watch and see.
I think it is absolutely the most stupid idea ever heard of. What is ABC thinking. They’re not. i agree if I could remove channel 7 from mu remote I would be since we can’t then we need to boycott channel 7 and the two new shows that are replacing them. SHAME ON

you guys have lost your minds this is so stupid idea ever!! i’ve been watching these shows for decades and my mom has too i think you guys need to go back to the drawing board and do something possitive not am i only upset these shows are being cancelled these people which i love are out of a job come on pull your heads out and do something possitive for them and us shame on you

This is a bad move by ABC. There are those of us that are in the workforce and use a DVR so we can watch when we get home. Did they not think that just because women work, doesnt mean that they cannot come home and watch. I will never tune into these stupid talk shows. ABC is no longer an option for me. I only watch these two soaps as well as General Hospital witch will probably be next. There are so many story lines going on, what are they going to do, make everthing happen all in a week??
I have been a fan of All My Children since the show began. I am just heart broken that the show is being cancelled. It is the only daytime show I watch. Very upsetting news. People are sick and tired of talk shows, food/cooking shows and reality shows. Leave the soaps alone. I believe there is a big enough fan base to keep it going. I hope that ABC can find it in their hearts to understand what people want…and we want All My Children to stay on the air.
They have lost their minds — if they think the same people who have been watching All My Children and One Life to Live are going to watch that particular group of people tell us what to eat, they are really crazy. Since ABC cozies up to the White House, makes you wonder if they received instructions from the White House to instruct us what to eat, since that seems to be a big part of their agenda, rather than handling the serious problems. I think ABC is going to be very sorry – they lost many fans when they let Rosie run loose, people are getting weary of the ladies on the View, this will be just another reason to not watch anything on ABC.
how could abc get rid of all my children. I take my lunch hour at 1 pm every day just so i can watch it.this is stupid i will never watch abc again if they do this.
ABC thankyou for making it easy for me to not watch t.v. anymore… you cancelled the only shows I watch, and incase you haven’t noticed there are way to many food and diet shows on daytime, well really all the time t.v… So best of luck to your ratings, pretty sure you’re gonna need it…

I do not watch reality TV, I do not watch cooking shows, I do not watch talk shows and I will not be watching ABC after September. Only show they have that I like is Castle . . . they’ll probably cancel that too anyway . . .
Has ABC lost their minds? I’ve been a fan of AMC and OLTL since the beginning. It’s my one constant for all my years. My husband is a fan and watches it every night on Hulu. Seriously, another food show? Don’t we have enough of that everywhere, we are all too fat anyway. Does ABC realize people dvr this or hulu it? Maybe that can’t be counted. We are just both sick about it. I agree with Dee. We do not want another food/talk/reality show.
It is unbelievable to me that the executives at ABC(and the other networks), continuously forget about those of us who have been loyal for 40 years and since the beginning of these programs. The baby boomers are the ones who are, or who will be at home over the next 10 years and our children grew up watching it with us! They are now either recording and watching, or home with their own children watching. How many more food, reality, home improvement, and infomercial type shows do the networks think we are going to tolerate when we are PAYING to watch television?! Every time there is anything remotely newsworthy, they break -in and interrupt the programming as it is, and I have begun recording on Soap Net, just so that I can see the whole thing. On night programming, they move stuff around so much one cannot even find it. Obviously the people who are the decision makers do not realize their demographic! They need to realize that we spend the most, watch the most, and walk away from shows the easiest of any demographic. Better pay attention networks and make better decisions!
i grew up on amc and oltl and i think if enough people tune out to abc then perhaps they would change their minds. what is the point in even having cable tv without my reliable soaps. shame on you abc!!!

I am truly heartbroken because of the future loss of “All My Children”.
The Soap has been a part of my life for over forty years. I talk about the characters as though they are a part of my family. This will affect ABC
viewer’s daily ritual of enjoying their lunch time with this ever changing drama that we have all grown to love.
I am so glad you are all feeling the same as me. I said when AMC goes off the air, I am boycotting ABC. I can’t believe they are actually doing this to have some kind of talk shows on. They are wasting their time and money because I will not watch it. They are taking soapnet off the air too and replacing it with Disney Jr. Like we need more cartoon channels. I looked forward to watching my soap for an hour because then I have to watch cartoons with my little ones. I wish AMC would just move to another network/channel.
I thought this was a joke when I saw it on Facebook today; unfortunately it’s true. I will permanently ban ABC if they cancel these shows especially for two more stupid talk shows (none of which have ever held my interest on any network to be honest). I have been watching both of these soaps for 37 years (can you say that about any other show on any network)? Why would you take shows that have been watched for decades by millions of viewers and throw them out? Quit trying to be cutting edge and just give the viewers what they want to watch and not what you think we want to watch.
I am thoroughly disgusted with the cancellation of AMC!!! I am completely done with ABC forever. Their excuse that the demographic who watched AMC are out in the workforce is BS. I am sure they all have DVR’s and recorded AMC like I did. This isn’t the first time ABC has cancelled a show or should I say shows that were popular to the public. I will remove ABC from my favorites list on my TV so that when I hit the channel up and down button I won’t even have to look at the number! Goodbye Desperate Housewives as I refuse to watch you any longer. Besides, ABC will probably just pull the rug out from under you any way. No more jeopardy, news, jimmy kimmel, dancing with the stars, etc. I am asking all follows to please stop watching ABC all together. They think they are in trouble now, if all watchers would switch to other channels they will have no viewers!!
HUGE MISTAKE!!!!! That is absolutely the WORST television decision I have heard in a LONG TIME! Instead of trying to make big changes in the shows themselves or how they are presented – they threw in the towel to be “innovative”???? Give me a BREAK! This is a BIG cop out! The fact is that the writing has been sliding a bit for a LONG TIME. NOT to say I have stopped watching mind you. I grew up with Erika Kane!!!! She is slightly older than I, and we had our babies the same year. I am heart stricken.
Come on ABC! Another talk and food show is NOT what we need! Good grief – they are EVERYWHERE! I am SICK TO DEATH of them. I can’t believe you spend all the money to move All My Children out west just to make such a horrid decision like this. How about getting out of the “soap comfort zone” and pushing your writers to be more creative at this point?
I have GREAT respect for the writers – it’s a brutal and grueling business. I am a professional writer too, and I know what it takes to do a show like that. BUT writers after writers that were supposed to “do big things” have simply spun the same old thing time after time and the only thing they probably did was to wind up costing the show more money along with the cost of production. Truly creative writing will come up with GREAT innovative strategies that will revolutionize the soaps and bring viewers in. Not a drastic change in scheduling to put more reality crap on the air.
Whoah! ABC – You are going to lose so many viewers to this – you are sooooo clueless! And more heads will roll next year when ABC realizes how absolutely dead wrong they were because they will LOSE most of their audience. But then it will be too late. Viewers will be gone. Stars will have moved on. Only the sadness will remain. ABC used to be tops in my book, but they just plummeted to last place. Unbelievably bad decision.

watch All My Children every day. I have been watching for
40 years. The cast is like part of my family. There is not
much to watch these days that is worth watching, but this is
one show we do not miss. It will really leave a void. Please
reconsider.
It’s times for fans to stand together and let ABC know that come September we will not be watching ABC or Disney are any other company thet attempt to turn into. With a united front maybe we shut ABC/Disney by 2013. After all its what these have choose tu do to these programs. Its just and eye from and eye in my books, think about and if you know how to get this type of movement rolling I support you. Its time support these programs or don’t. Lets take a stand!

ABC might be saving a dollar cancelling All My Children and One Life to Live on production costs but the new shows replacing them do not stand a chance for ratings, if people like me will not turn them on for the principal. I’ve watched both daytime soaps from time to time, All My Children since inception as a young girl, currently record All My Children daily and know that with this move ABC has lost one viewer and judging from the other comments I’m not alone. This is a very bad move ABC and I hope your cost savings make up for your new lack of viewers. ABC will no longer be my network of choice.
my mother watched amc and oltl when i was little. my sister and i started watching it with her when i was 7. i am 39 now and still watch. my daughter is now watching it and my niece. these shows are passed down from generation to generation and they just throw them away with the garbage. i am devastated. i dvr amc every day and watch it when i get home from work. my family and i talk about the characters like they are real people. what a moronic idea to cancel these shows. a man made this decision because a woman knows how important soaps are to the female demographic. great job abc. you just tanked your faithful audience. i will not watch these stupid throw away shows that you are airing. nor will i watch anything else. i am pissed!
Oh boy, do I agree. I’ve been watching both programs since the first episode of each, except when I had to work back when there were no recording devices. 🙂 I’m 66 years old. Taking away my programs will leave me nothing to watch. I can’t stand cooking, reality, or talk shows either. Why was GH spared? It’s the worst one of the bunch. All about crime bosses, corruption, murder, & gangsters. Shows the mentality of the ones doing the canceling. They spare the worst one when it comes to any resemblance to morality.
To cancel these two shows is a TERRIBLE IDEA. I believe that ABC
will sooner or later discover they have made a big mistake.
I have been watching All My Children since it first started and

I agree with all s these people who say that ABC has made many enenies I do not watch any other ABC shows except for Regis ans Kelli If they choose an unacceptable replcement for Regis then there will be no shows I watch on abc I will watch fox news Channel andtheir subsideraries rather than ABC, But one viewer gave me a glimmer of hope WhyNot get another channel to continue the show What intelligent channel would be interested I am sure there might me quite a few and then play it at the same time and put ABC out of its mystery???
I started watching Days when I left my job to have my baby.. she is now 34…I have been a fan of days for that long.. it is a wonderful show with wonderful actors.. I miss Marlena and Roman… The characters become part of your everyday life…I for one am sick to death of these reality shows. there are too many of them and after you watch one season, you’ve had enough. Exceptions woudl be Idol, Dancing with the stars they are entertaining. How about leaving the quality TV alone and bringing back some of the well acted TV sitcoms… Ghost Whisperer,Touched by an Angel,St. Elsewhere, NYPD Dlue. shows like Cosby,Brady Bunch,3 is enough Waltons to name a few…. they were wonderful shows… just a thought

Todd seems to be in trouble all the time….I want to see him eat something and the poor man has only had oatmeal since…When is he going to eat something? Roger Howarth is back and loving every moment of it and when he killed Victor was it mind control or was it placed in his mind? I want to see him happy and want to see him with his family.
I Really love the fact that Bo saved every one from blowing up and it seems like it is down played for the moment but he is a Hero and some one needs to tell him…Bo really cares about people and he is there to help every one throw thick and thin and…HE IS NICE AND KIND AND WARM AND HONEST..
Beautiful little starr who is a woman and a mother and a great singer and….Kind and warm and thoughtful young lady. Blair is doing such a good job at acting and the way she got on her son and loving him throw mistake after mistakes and…Open is her heart and soul and mind to each direction that is being taken…
Tea is smart and strong and fights like a bull dog on each of her cases and can think really fast on her feet.Nora has dislike for Todds old face and is out to hurt him!
All my children started to gross me out and made me want to Vomit and or put my food down and dancing with the stars was really hard to watch…Because I wanted some one from this show to be voted off and so that way…I could watch dancing with the stars and know I CAN ENJOY THE SHOW AGAIN WITHOUT HAVING TO WALK OUT OF THE ROOM OR TURN AWAY FROM THE SET AND YES I KNOW I AM HURTING FEELINGS BUT I WAS TRUELY GROSSED OUT AND MY STOMACH WAS TURNING FOR ALL MY CHILDREN.
All my children is not missed and never really cared for most of the men on the show and they where not sexy or hot or even worth looking at and yes the woman where pretty but some of the show was completely gross and no new blood pumping in and the men where not worth looking at and happy they are gone instead of one life to live…Happy that one life to live is on longer yes.
All my children is gone and one life to live is still here…Yes and outstanding…All My Children was Weak and Boring and is not missed but of course I do sound Heartless and really sorry about that but I stopped paying attention to the show once Ericas mother Died and for some reason really love older people who are great actors and have so much respect for them and Erica looks too young and she seems to never age and she is always in great shape and that alone was driving me away from the show.

THE MEN ON THAT SHOW WHERE SEXY AS HELL AND MAN OH MAN, YUMMY SEXY AND SMOOTH AND SOME HAIRY MEN TOGETHER AND VERY EASY ON THE EYE BUT WHAT GOT ME WAS THE STORY LINE OF THE TWO TODDS AND OR VICTOR BUT THIS SHOW WAS STARTING TO BLOW ME AWAY AND OF COURSE IT WAS ALWAYS A MUST SEE AND NO MATTER WHERE I WAS AND NO MATTER WHAT I WAS DOING I WAS SO STUCK ON THAT TIME 5 DAYS AWEEK AND I REMEMBER BACK IN THE DAY..THE O.J. THING WAS GOING DOWN AND THEY WHERE TAKING OVER THE STATIONS…I REMEMBER CALLING THE COMPLAINT LINE AND BITCHING AND BEING MAD….BECAUSE I AM IN LOVE WITH ROGER HOWARD AND I HAD TO SEE HIM AND IT WAS JUST DRIVING ME CRAZY TO TURN ON THE SET AND NOT SEE THIS HANDSOME SMOKING HOT MAN AND I DID NOT CARE IF HE WAS THE BAD GUY And the rapist on that show was a story line that should had got his ass kicked off the show but man oh man….this guy was yummy and cute as hell and…I SAW HIS ASS ON THAT SHOW AND I JUST MELTED AND SAID WHO IS THIS GUY AND MY GOODNESS WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NATURAL BLOND….HEAVEN HELP ME LORD JESUS I WAS SURE NOT TO MISS THIS SHOW EVER AGAIN…YES THERE ARE TIMES WHEN HE LEFT AND MOVED ON BUT ALWAY HELD OUT HOPE OF HIM COMING BACK AND AT TIMES JUST WOULD NOT WATCH THE SHOW AND WATCHED HIM SOME WHAT ON THE OTHER SHOW BUT IT PISSED ME OFF AND WAS MAD…BECAUSE I HAD TO PAY ATTENTION TO OTHER MEN THAT COULD NOT HOLD A CANDLE TO HIM AND SO I COULD NO LONGER BEAR THE OTHER SHOW. KNOW ITS 2012 AND I EASE DROP TO SOME DEGREE And this show is better to me then the other show he was doing before he came back to one life to live? I WAS HAPPY ABOUT THE ONE MOMENT I GOT TO TALK TO HIM IN SEATTLE HE WAS ON KOMO 4 AND I GOT TO ASK HIM ABOUT HIS BEAUTIFUL EYES AND ARE THEY REAL BUT MY GOODNESS MY EYES WHERE GLUED TO HIM AND CINDY RINEHART WAS TALKING CRAP ABOUT HIM ON THE SHOW AND WAS TRYING TO COUNT HIM OUT AND I CALLED IN AND SAID IF THEY TAKE HIM OFF THE SHOW…I AM NOT GOING TO WATCH ANYMORE…YES AT THE END OF THE SHOW HE WAS COMING TO SEATTLE…WILL ALWAY LOVE HIM AS AN ACTOR AND HEARD HE SAID HE LIKE B.B.Q. RIBS..?
REX AND GI…GI THING DROVE ME CRAZY AND THAT STORY WAS NUTTS AND THERE IS ALWAYS SOME ONE KEEPING THEM APPART AND THERE IS ALWAYS SOME STALKERS HANGING OUT IN BOTH DIRECTION AND TWIST AND TURNS AND SOME JOY AND ALWAYS SOMETHING BREAKING THEM UP AND THIS AND THAT?
