We always list here the renewed shows on 2011 and all the cancelled shows on 2011, and this one I saw coming since I reviewed the premiere. There was a good idea indeed for the show, but a poor execution and that ended up on the decision from CBS to cancel How to Be a Gentleman in its first shortened season.
There were only two episodes that saw the air, and seven more in the can (the last one being filmed this week), and the show won´t air anymore in that sweet sweet spot that implies getting The Big Bang Theory as your lead in. The show´s been moved to Saturdays to air the remaining seven episodes, thus airing in Siberia timeslot.
Rules of Engagement will take the place of the cancelled How to Be a Gentleman, and the veteran show is getting a big upgrade schedule-wise, since it was originally set to air on Saturdays, and now it gets paired to The Big Bang Theory.
It´s the second consecutive year from Rules of Engagement as a replacement, since it already did it last year with Shit My Dad Says.
