More information to fill the lists for cancelled shows of 2012 and renewed shows of 2012. And after a couple of weeks that I´ve been away, there was some turmoil in the form of renewals and cancellations; some more shocking than others, this one being a regular one. CNN cancelled John King USA.
John King himself tweeted about the show getting cancelled by saying: “JohnKingUSA ends June 29. Obviously wished we performed better at 6pE. Daily anchoring ends tad sooner than plan”.
In a memo from the network, it stated actually a shift of roles for John King, during the campaign coverage.
Memo by CNN’s VP Ken Jautz read: ““I wanted to inform you of a change we are making to bolster our political coverage heading into the critical stretch of the 2012 campaign. Beginning next month, John King will shift roles and become our lead national campaign correspondent”.
In its place, CNN is not planning on developing a new show, but oversize Wolf Blitzer’s “The Situation Room” and expand it to three hours.
