Eastwick got cancelled by ABC after only airing a handful of episodes.
Eastwick is an American television drama series created by Maggie Friedman. The series is a television adaptation of the John Updike novel, The Witches of Eastwick. The show currently airs on ABC and is currently being produced by Warner Bros. The show premiered on September 23, 2009 at 10:00PM Eastern/9:00PM Central. The show follows the lives of three strangers, Roxanne, Joanna and Kat, who meet at a wishing fountain and soon become friends. A mysterious man named Darryl Van Horne has moved to Eastwick and has plans for the women, and befriends them. Even more dangerous, he unleashes their supernatural powers, and their true potential. By igniting their hearts’ desires, he might just be opening Pandora’s box.
On November 9, 2009, ABC declined to order any additional episodes of Eastwick effectively cancelling the series. However, the remaining ordered episodes will still air in the series’ current timeslot. Lifetime have expressed an interest in picking up the show for a second season.
What is Eastwick About? – Plot
Season one began airing on September 23, 2009 and introduces three women – Roxanne Torcoletti, Joanna Frankel, and Kat Gardener. They hardly know each other, but meet at a wishing fountain and make three different wishes that interlink and bring trouble to the town of Eastwick. A man named Darryl Van Horne has moved into the town and has an unusual interest in the women and soon befriends them and teaches them about their magical abilities. During the season, we are introduced to Bun Waverly and Eleanor Rougemont, who seem to have a past with Darryl, and a mysterious third woman in the photo of them appeared missing. Eleanor also reveals that she was the one who killed Darryl, formerly known as Sebastian Hart, but with Darryl walking around alive, Joanna and Penny investigate the mystery.
What will happen to that ABC Slot?
For the time being, ABC has said the remaining episodes of Eastwick will be aired normally and the show will finish after the 13th episode.

Bull*&$t is what this is!! ABC is awesome at cancelling the really good shows like Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money and Life On Mars and keeping the crap shows like Cougar Town.
Without Grey’s Anatomy and DWTS they would be nowhere. I do like Flash Forward but it’s only a matter of time before that goes too.

I very upset eastwick was cancelled there is nothing else to watch on wed. I really like the show. ABC coulda gave it a chance
It’s very upsetting that ABC had decided to cancel Eastwick. I for one think that they chose a wrong time slot for the show and that didn’t help at all with they’re decision.
I do hope hope that Lifetime does pick up the show, Would love to see the show continue for at least 2 to 3 more seasons 🙂

I just read the news … i cannot believe that Eastwick had been cancelled … I am extremely disgusted by that…..
O my god … This show was fabulous and they cancel it … I am so sick of all the other story lines on TV and we finally get something with substance and they cancel it go figure ..

Why would you cancel Eastwick without giving it a fair run…I love that show & also loved Lipstick Jungle & Dirty Sexy Money, but you seem to keep the crap on like Ulgy Betty & the Office???

I was very disappointed that Eastwick is one of the programs to be cancelled. I enjoyed the show very much, the storyline was different and the cast was great. I hope that it will be renewed.

I just heard of this tvshow a while back.. and I absolutely fell in love it’s like I got charmed+humor back .. sad to find out it got canceled do hope it will be picked up by another..

Seriously I can’t believe ABC are being so stupid as to cancel a show after one season. Talk about not giving it a fair shot! And how are they gonna get anywhere if ABC can’t be bothered to promote it! What idiots!

Yes, and that was the only good show ABC had going!!! Now I got nohing to watch on that network!!! Eastwick was amazing, and ABC is stupid for canceling it!!!
I was in love with Eastwick & looked forward to it everyweek! It was awesome with an excellent and it always left you waiting for what was going to happen next. Abc I’m sorry but cancel some of your other crap and give it a chance! If lifetime picks it up for a new season I will no longer watch abc for anything, Eastwick fan

I was really bummed when Eastwick got canceled. I can’t bring myself to delete them from my DVR. I hope they come out on DVD sooner than later. I loved the show. I blogged about good shows getting canceled today. So sad.

I am a 43 yr old male. I don’t usually watch shows like “Eastwick”. However, there really isn’t anything else on the other networks at that time and I just left the channel on after watching the sitcoms (which are excellent by the way). I FELL IN LOVE WITH “EASTWICK”. It had good storyline. Nice scenery. Cool special effects. And really hot actresses. The entire cast were excellent actors. I hope Lifetime does pick it up. I thought it would be a good pick-up for CBS on Friday nights. It would fit well after “Ghost Whisperer” and “Medium”. They could have an entire supernatural night of shows. Now I hear CBS cancelled “Ghost Whisperer” so I guess that idea is shot. Too bad.

Whoever the retard in charge was who made the decision to cancel Eastwick should LOSE THEIR JOB. If there are execs who are happening to read over these comments, if you read no other comments, READ THIS ONE: It is SAD that they lack the PERCEPTION to realize that this show – if left on the air – WILL ATTRACT SO MUCH MORE ATTENTION. So many people I know talk about and make sure they are home in time to watch THIS ONE PROGRAM. ABC has no idea of the demographics they are hitting so thoroughly with this Show – NO IDEA. You execs have to be PATIENT and not worry about your ratings all the time — shows like this will be huge because so many people love it now. Stop being so short-sighted and leave a wonderfully fantastic show ON THE AIR. There are aspects of this show that so many of us viewers relate to and LOVE ferociously!!!! If you take this show off it will be a wonderful demonstration of ABC’s lack of INSIGHT and inability to make sound choices. Just be PATIENT and PLEASE LEAVE IT ON THE AIR. THIS SHOW IS WHAT I LOOK FORWARD TO EACH WEDNESDAY.
Loved the movie and adored the series… Bring it back! This needs to be developed and fine tuned… Great concept and great cast…
