UPDATE: On May 13th ABC oficially cancelled Scrubs.
We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.
And this show is no big news to have it cancelled, since it was almost a full 13 episode swan song season.
Scrubs is getting cancelled by ABC.
No more JD Dorian, no more Turk, no more anything…
Donald Faison is already on his own new pilot TV Show, Sarah Chalke is on her own TV Pilot, and The Scrubs Writers, at their Twitter Account announced it. Scrubs is cancelled. Although final oficial confirmation is yet to come, there will be no Season 10 of one of the most beloved shows of the decade.
Let´s all salute a great show that is leaving us behind.
Are you sad Scrubs is getting cancelled? Or you think Scrubs already ended after Season 8?
Head to the comment and let me know
[…] Scrubs gets cancelled by ABC […]
Kinda sucky, not really a shocker though,no J.D,Janitor,Carla, all pieces of what made it such a good show for the first few seasons. 🙁
Scrubs ended at seaason 8, season 9 sucks
but i still want the show to keep going
and end it again, rather then just…
aww i liked season 9 it was fresh and funny =( i wish they didnt cancel it. i wanted to see what happend with drew. drew is like the new dr cox lol
Not to say the interns are bad, but I don’t think that the show would be what it is without most of the main characters around (considering most of the main cast has gone on to other things), not to mention the creator. Oh well, I guess we can just see season nine as a good epilogue to the ending of season eight =P.
I WANT SCRUBS BACK!
I WANT IT BACKKKKK GOSHH!
Sad to see it go. It was not Scrubs per say any more in the last season, but this was not a bad thing. I think the JD character had become locked into the same old stuff and was now uninteresting and I did not miss him.
The new characters were developing well and the show should have moved on with them and Dr Cox (my hero). If the “fans” had to have JD, then his character along with Turk should have developed and matured in the latter part of season 8 to give him and the show more depth. Then the bumbling newbies would have had the chance they deserved.
it was over after 8 but i wish it never ended or had a bad change of environment like season 9.
I think they should have changed the name of the show that might have saved Scrubs Season 9. calling it Scrubs made people think it was still the old show with the original people. this was wrong it lost most of its main people and they got a whole new set and a new felling to it and new main people. sure you could have kept some of the old people like Cox or Turk. dont get me wrong i loved the show still but it was a little sad with out ted, Janitor, and Carla. with a new title and more or less telling people its not the old show i think it could still make it.
I think the only one missing in season 9 was the janitor
season 8 was the end for me. they ended the show great and it was ready to be done, but starting it up a year after the finale was a bad choice
Have to agree 100% with izzy. Season 8 ended so beautifully and gave perfect closure. Then not only did season 9 wrip up that beautifully wrapped ending, but the new cast was annoying.
I kinda agree with Izzy but I think that the show its self was so good when I saw the Finale in season 8 it kinda made me crave that what if future JD saw. What would have happened with JD being a father of two? Or what would have happened with the friendship between Turk and JD with all the new changes? I think the show could have had some series kick if they kept the cast and they could have even kept to new guys I mean if the fans didn’t like then (and god knows I didn’t) they could have always just dropped them its not like they haven’t done it before. Scrubs was my favorite show on tv and I’m going to be said to see it go.
I am sad to see a decade of laughs, tears, and excellent television end. Scrubs came about during a period in a lot of Americans lives when terrorism and extremists ruled the television screen. Scrubs was the greatest escape anyone could ever ask for and escape they did! With awesome dialogue and far out hysterical dream sequences we all got a half hour to forget about the craziness in this world. That was the initial feeling that made scrubs so successful. Its not like anything else on tv to date. The stories that the writers created were deep, and though I am not a doctor, I am going through a similar period in my life, leaving college behind and having to grow up and drag my friends along with me. I could relate to the story lines quite a bit. In a way, I grew up right along side with the show. The new season was a great idea, poorly executed, and obviously forced. If Scrubs ever wishes to continue in the future, round up the old crew. What would Cheers be like without the majority of the original cast? How about MASH? It doesn’t work without the originals- and the originals story is one that can only go on….and on……
“no more JD Dorian”
John Dorian Dorian?? It’s ‘JD’ or ‘John Dorian’ you idiot, not both. JD Dorian is like saying ‘ATM machine’ (Automatic Teller Machine Machine)
They let any idiots write articles now days.
Sam:
JD is the nickname, so in this case you can use it. It´s not either or.
Any idiot can write, and apparently can comment also without adding anything new or interesting to an article.
Scrubs should have been cancelled before season 1 ended. It is, by far, one of the most moronic shows of all time.
One of the funniest, no…the funniest TV programme I have seen. I’m sad to see it go, but all good things come to an end! Good luck to the crew. Oh, and Dr. Cox – you looked fantastic in Wall Street (The first one!) Said with the same sarcastic attitude to which you afford anyone else’s facial hair, or trailing Newbie!
🙂
It’s very sad they cancelled it. It was one of the funniest TV shows i’ve ever seen. I’m stil hoping they will change their mind.
[…] medical professionals, I prefer the comedic stylings of Zach Braff’s J.D. Dorian (may he rest in peace) over the heightened sexualized workplace antics of Patrick Dempsey’s Dr. McDreamy. But for […]
the ‘D’ in ‘JD’ stands for dorian… so its JD or john dorian, nott john dorian dorian.
sorry 😉
Season 9 was horrible, in my opinion one of the funniest shows ever was laid to rest in season 8. I wish we had the old Scrubs back again but alas all good things come to an end.
scrubs should never be cancelled. i had no problem with season 9, i thought it was still brilliant. they should sign with someone else and get it back on air!
well, fortunately Bill Lawrence moved on to create Cougar Town… so it´s no harm no foul
After many years still missing them.
i love scrubs alot,n still misses it. but for me scrubs end at season 8,season 9 sucks.w/o old characters its ntng. i recently watched agn s1-8. damn i miss it…
