We are reviewing all the cancelled shows and renewed shows of the season.
And this is more like a Futurama thing…
Torchwood ended last year, but it found a new home and a new life…
“Torchwood” will be back on television next summer with Starz replacing BBC America as the sci-fi series’ American broadcaster.
The press release suggested the partnership with Starz “will allow Davies and his writing team to tell a more explosive and global story,” and noted that the series “has to date been located primarily in Cardiff, Wales,” suggesting Jack, Gwen and company might be traveling far and wide whenever he gets back to our particular globe.
It is then technically a renewal by Starz for Torchwood, or a Torchwood pickup by Starz, however you like to put it.
Are you happy Torchwood was renewed by Starz?

I am extremely happy with the renewal. I love Torch wood. Gwen is my favorite character. I can’t wait for season 4. I watch all of my Starz shows on Netflix. I am really excited about this one more so that Spartacus season 2.
I will be happy if Starz is able to erase COE from my memory and bring back Ianto Jones to his lovely captain. Meanwhile I will follow Russell t Davies recommendations (reading poetry in that case because I am not into Supernatural).
YAY! Soooo glad Torchwood’s been renewed! I’ve been getting withdrawal symptoms. Dont know why the UK’s Beeb didnt renew it, or why Starz has, just glad someone did! Thank you . . . . .
It’s a shame that Torchwood’s first seasons were so hard to be seen by us here in the US. I stumbled on it through Netflix and have been hooked ever since. Frankly it’s the only show I watch that’s come out of the BBC. I find most British shows too hooky and predictable.
I was seriously unhappy at the brief handful of episodes last summer, and the publicity of Torchwood has been spotty at best. You could have a serious hit show here in the US with this series. but you fail to know how to market it. The US loves it’s sci-fi but we want something that’s consistent and that we don’t have to chase it down to see it. After all, we yanks are bloody fat, lazy and arrogant and we like ourselves this way (I have a lot of British friends that remind me of this quite often!)
Hurry up…… I’m waiting for this damn show!
man, now I HAVE to get Starz. Why couldn’t it be SyFy instead? And Doctor Who’s the best show to come out of BBC… followed by Torchwood… hahaha
I hope this dies and is never seen again. The constant homosexual propaganda makes this show unwatchable, especially with children.
Hope you die 12/21commenter – never to be heard from again. Fool
I am really happy the series is coming back. Its funny
entertaining, exciting and a great cast and writers
As for the comment about homosexual overtones,
Get over yourself. I think Jack’s character is endearing
Full of Life (literally) 🙂 and love. If you dont like it
Change the freaking channel. I cant wait for the next season
