On a day filled with announcements from the major networks, another show is getting the callback as CBS renews Criminal Minds for season nine. This decision was widely expected and only delayed due to the negotiations with the cast to secrue them for a new contract. Having sealed them, the network can now move on and announce the renewal for Criminal Minds for its ninth season.
Shows major castmembers Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook secured a new deal including raises for the show that even as a long time veteran is performing quite healthyly for the Eye, being #1 show on Wednesdays averaging 12.24 million viewers and a 3.3/9 in adults 18-49.
Criminal Minds was the only non bubble show from the network who hadn´t gotten an early pickup, so now, we are only waiting for announcements from CBS pertaining renewals or cancellations for bubble shows. But in the meantime, we can sigh in relief that Criminal Minds has been renewed and will be back for a new season, and probably even beyond.
