The show was a critics massacre, as they consistently said this show was absolute crap. But it was performing quite well with the audiences making it almost a safe bet to be renewed, but ultimately, Dads got cancelled, despite having a very good cast, which included Giovanni Ribisi, Seth Green, Martin Mull, Peter Riegert and Brenda Song; while having Seth MacFarlane as creator and Executive Producer.
The show is about two successful gaming entrepreneurs – and childhood best friends – whose lives get turned upside down when their pain-in-the-neck patriarchs move in.
The premise of the show could have gone anywhere, and with such a talented ensemble, I truly was hoping for a lot more. I could only, and barely get through the pilot, mostly because of Brenda Song´s appearance, as the characters for the four males were dull and annoying. Such a waste!
Well, anyhow, Fox decided to cancel Dads after the first season, and move forward with the new shows and pilots that it has greenlit.
