HBO already announced their plan of not moving forward with Hello Ladies, that will wrap up with a special; and now it is also cancelling Family Tree, the Chris O´Dowd starrer. In this case, the show was indeed thought as a limited edition show, therefore the decision is not a defacto cancellation, but rather a miniseries that ran its storyline and that´s it.
In 2014 HBO has launched several new shows looking for solid hits such as True Detective which will be probably one of the biggest TV events of the year, and the dramedy Looking trying to match the success of Girls and Veep among the comedy front. This also contributed to the fact that something gotta go; and that´s a miniseries realeasing its timeslot for a new bet.
Chris O´Dowd will continue with other projects in his busy schedule and we´ll see him soon enough, so everything´s cool with this for me.
I don´t know about your opinion though. What do you think? Are you bummed that HBO cancelled Family Tree? Let me know in the comments section, and remember to follow me on Twitter for more scoop about which shows are coming back and which ones are getting axed.
