In a heavy day on the site with many renewal announcements, another late one comes to join the headlines, as HBO renews The Newsroom for season three in a totally expected turn of events. Even though it´s always good to get official confirmation of these comebacks.
Even though HBO is yet to confirm the renewal for The Newsroom, show´s star Jeff Daniels tweeted: “#Newsroom coming back for a season 3”. That´s good enough for confirmation, right?
The show still has two more episodes to air in this second season that has seen better numbers than in the freshman run, when it was also a hit. So, the only thing delaying the renewal for The Newsroom was mainly scheduling with creator Aaron Sorkin, as he has other film projects currently.
The Newsroom is an American television political drama series created and principally written by Aaron Sorkin that premiered on HBO on June 24, 2012. The series chronicles the behind-the-scenes events at the fictional Atlantis Cable News channel.
