Writing is a big part of a film, and most times, whe it is an adaptation it may also be the most stressful and where you get less gratitude. People will remember the author of the book, and people will say the book was better… well, this nominees were making the case:
Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu, Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris Jr and Armando Bo for Birdman or (The Uniexpected Virtue of Ignorance); Richard Linklater for Boyhood; E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman for Foxcatcher; Wes Anderson and Hugo Guinness for The Grand Budapest Hotel; and Dan Gilroy for Nightcrawler.
