movies-jk-simmons-oscars-2015The Best Actor in a Supporting Role is generally considered a vote of respect, but I always remember when Tom Cruise was nominated for Magnolia (and didn´t win), he was told, don´t worry Tom, you will still be a leading actor and get leading actor paychecks.
So, it´s no surprise the kind of actors getting nominated, so, the pool of nominees is comprised of: Robert Duvall for The Judge, Ethan Hawke for Boyhood, Edward Norton for Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), Mark Ruffalo for Foxcatcher and J.K. Simmons for Whiplash.

Last year´s winner Lupita Nyong´O presented the very first award after the opening monologue.

And the Oscar goes to… J.K. Simmons.

He had the best acceptance speech so far (well, the first, but my bet is his will be the best one after all). And he asked everybody to call their parents, not text them, call them. People laughed and clapped like crazy. He deserved it. He´s all that.

What do you think? Are you happy J.K. Simmons won the Academy Award 2015 for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Whiplash? Head to the comments section and let me know. Also, follow me on Twitter for more scoop.
