The very same day we went to Crayola Experience, since we already were at The Florida Mall, we decided to give Carlo´s Bakery a try and taste how good the Cake Boss cupcakes and sweets are. Since this is the one in Orlando, you will not see any of the people from the TV Show in there, nor will you get to meet Buddy Valastro and ask him for your special cake, but, you will still get to taste the world-renowned bakery products in there.

When we visited we decided to take advantage of the online order, and we went there to pick it up to avoid the lines. That is a big plus from the shop, as it may have, depending on the hours, long waiting lines. If you can plan a bit ahead and select a pick up time you are good to go.

We wanted to try the two staples: The Classic Canoli and The Red Velvet Cupcake. Presentation and packaging is pretty neat, with the two cupcakes in the bigger box, and the smaller box with two canolis.

The two Canolis were $7,90 and they were well worth it. Pretty big and plenty full inside. It is quite clear that the quality of the product is good, as even being deep fried, and full of creaminess, they were not heavy at all. It is filled with Sweetened Ricotta Cheese, some chocolate chips and cinnamon.

The two Red Velvet Cupcakes went for $6, and they were in reality just cupcakes. I wouldn´t write home about them. They were good, but maybe I was expecting awesomeness. Maybe it is the fact that I come from Argentina and over here we have a big tradition of bakeries, or maybe I did not order the best products. They were plenty ok, but I may have had bigger expectations from the king of the TV Bakery.

Maybe the fact that we ordered online, and doing it by that method you need to order two of each product we did not have the variety we would´ve liked to try and you can see in the picture below that there´s a lot to choose from; maybe it was the fact that we had high expectations. Truth is, the place is a very good option (I gave it 4 stars in Tripadvisor), but it was not even close to my favorite bites and eats on this travel. I will tell you more about it in articles to come…
