Talk about a big Duh! joining the lists of renewed shows of 2013 and cancelled shows of 2013. This one, of course goes to the renewal side, even getting an early renewal, as The CW renewed Arrow for a second season. This Warner Brothers Studio produced show has become the biggest breakout hit for The CW in recent memory, even helping veteran Supernatural gain 15% in the ratings compared to last season, and helping it earn its season nine renewal order too.
The show is helping The CW establish a building block around its Wednesday´s programming, pairing Arrow with Supernatural, and having another Sci-Fi show on Thursdays in The Vampire Diaries also working as a foundation for what´s to come next premiere season.
Arrow posted The CW’s best series premiere since 2009 and currently stands as the network’s most watched show (4.3 million).
CW President Mark Pedowitz said, regarding Arrow renewal: “We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that”.
