Well, I know we are in the summer, but there are several shows worth taking a look. And in this article I will preview only a handful of those.
AMC: Breaking Bad Season Four Premiere Sunday, July 17 at 10pm ET/PT
The fourth season of the critically acclaimed original drama series “Breaking Bad” premieres this summer on AMC. From acclaimed writer/producer/director Vince Gilligan, the series follows the story of a Walter White, a milquetoast high school chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife and teenage son who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and with a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to gain financial security for his family, chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series stars Bryan Cranston who won three consecutive Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor for his portrayal of Walter White and Aaron Paul, who won the 2010 Emmy® winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman. The rest of the cast includes Anna Gunn as Skyler White; Dean Norris as Hank Schrader; Betsy Brandt as Marie Schrader; RJ Mitte as Walter, Jr; Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman; Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring; and Jonathan Banks as Mike.
Sundance: Ludo Bites America Series Premiere Tuesday, July 19 at 9pm ET/PT
Classically trained to remake the classics, Ludo Lefebvre is a 5-star French chef who’s writing his own restaurant rulebook. Now, Ludo is on a mission to blend his extraordinary culinary talents with everyday eats. He and business partner/wife, Krissy, are hitting the road to reinvent American cuisine. From Carolina barbeque to New Mexico chiles, each episode finds Ludo and Krissy setting up their innovative pop-up restaurant at a local eatery desperate for fresh ideas. While Ludo takes a crash course in U.S. culture, Krissy is out generating buzz for opening night. If it pans out, they’ll fill seats and stomachs. Working together with their hosts, the creative duo try to fuse Ludo’s high-end cooking with American classics and reignite a community’s passion for food – inspiring them to live a little more outside their comfort food zone.
Current TV: 4th and Forever Finale Thursday, July 21 at 9pm ET
Going into the first round of the playoffs, Coach Raul Lara and his Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits focus on bringing home the CIF Championship trophy. But first they have to get past Mater Dei High School. Despite an explosive opening play, quarterback Chaiyse Hales self-destructs as he throws two interceptions. Poly fails to recover and they are eliminated from the CIF playoffs. With tear stained cheeks their 2010 season is over. The seniors are all looking towards their futures, Dabness Atkins commits to the Air Force Academy and thanks Starr Scott for supporting him throughout high school. With no college scholarships in sight, Jeremiah Hollowell’s mother takes matters into her own hands. Jeremiah is shocked when his mother informs him he will be attending a fifth year of high school and getting a second chance to impress college football scouts. With an 8-3 record, Coach Lara contemplates returning to Poly next year. On Signing Day, the community celebrates the senior players who have received college scholarships.
