The messy uncle premise is once again on our Television. ABC is getting ready to premiere midseason, the new show called Uncle Buck, about a fun-loving but irresponsible guy who needs a job and a place to stay. By happy coincidence, his nieces’ and nephew’s nanny has just quit and his brother and sister-in-law need his help. His unconventional personality may just make him the right fit for the family and they may be the answer to his problems, too (according to the official synopsis).

In a show with a solid cast headlined by Mike Epss, James Lesure, Nia Long and many more, this is the new show that needs to overcome a bad title and a few too early jokes.

What worries me about Uncle Buck is the early falling into cliches, but I know primetime has no time to fool around.

You know things are actually starting when the line “Buck is our only chance” is said.
And of course everything starts as the kids not liking his Uncle at all… soon things will surely change, all except Uncle Buck is going to be quirky forever.
All in all, the show is funny, and as a Midseason newcomer is going to perform well, it is not going to be the new Modern Family, the new Black-ish or the new Fresh Off the Boat, but it is certainly going to be with us long enough for us to try and let it develop.
